Volunteer OpportunityWork with Bellevue Schools Foundation’s Community Engagement Committee to raise awareness among Asian parents at Microsoft who have children in the Bellevue School District about the work of the Foundation and why it is important to support us. This might include:
• Working with the Foundation's Community Engagement Committee to identify opportunities to engage Microsoft employees with our mission
• Creating an internal Microsoft Group—Friends of Bellevue Schools Foundation—and communicating with them regularly
• Holding coffee meetings at Microsoft
• Facilitating small focus groups at schools within the Bellevue School District
• Hosting BSF Education Connections events at Microsoft

By maintaining a beautiful, clean and pleasing facility, we provide a feeling of respite and retreat for our patients as well as their families and caregivers. The simple act of sweeping the walkways and barn corridors is truly an act of kindness for our clients as well as safety for our staff and horses.If you enjoy being outdoors and around people and animals, we welcome you to contact us for this opportunity. Bring your team out for a few hours of painting, sweeping, weeding or doing general clean up at our facility - and then stay to enjoy a picnic lunch on our beautiful grounds. Hours are flexible - teams can visit on weekends or come during our regular operating hours M-F 9am-5pm. Documentation is available. A very brief orientation will be provided before starting. Please note that volunteers generally do not have independent contact with our therapy horses.

Peacebuilding Solutions (PS) is a humanitarian aid non-profit that offers a technologically and culturally sensitive approach to re-stabilize the livelihoods of people who have become refugees or internally displaced persons.
We conduct research to understand and outline the needs of people who have become refugees or internally displaced persons (IDPs) in order to provide the game-changing humanitarian aid that facilitates communities to rebuild and advance on their own terms.
The hole in our team we're wanting to fill:
PS needs a Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator who is excited to represent our organization and mission! This position is vital to our mission in helping us gain exposure for our mission as well as other sources of donations in creative ways. The position will be a telecommuting, part-time position which will allow with flexible hours and autonomous workflow on a volunteer, unpaid basis.
What you would do:
Work for our Development department as well as collaborating with other departments to secure new sponsors and income, execute fundraising programs and events, developing relationships, and rapidly grow Peacebuilding Solutions' business relationship within the local community.
Maintain existing and build new sponsor relationships through effective communication. Convert new sponsors into committed supporters through identification of shared goals and values.
May lead and participate in the execution of major fundraising programs of large scale events and other community based fundraising.
Handle fiscal accountability for significant income requirements. Provide timely and accurate projections to the Director of Development.
Build fundraising opportunities through various business development techniques including prospecting, targeted follow-up, and new lead generation.
Deliver organized, structured, and persuasive presentations, using effective written and verbal communication.
Lead temporary coordinators and volunteers.
Engage in continued learning opportunities provided through outside resources (non-profit blogs, TED talks, and fundraising experts).
Perform other duties or special projects as needed.
We'd love for you to apply if:
You can commit to atleast six months of volunteering
You can dedicate some of your time for PS every week
You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
You believe in the mission and what PS is all about!
You have a degree and/or experience in sales, corporate development or fundraising.
Non-profit experience is a plus!
You are successfully self-motivated and able to work without excessive supervision.
You have intermediate to proficient technology skills.
Knowledge on or a willingness to learn about the United Nations and being multilingual are pluses.
Motivated to meet and exceed fundraising goals and quotas.
Clearly and persuasively communicate, including public speaking; listen and seek clarifications; participate in meetings; write clearly and informatively.

Check In is the first big event for the Red Ribbon Ride! Our Riders and Crew members come to Check In to see the safety video, turn in final donations, fill out medial paper work, waivers and pick up their check in packet for the event and drop off their gear for Ride out the following morning. We need volunteers to help us at all our stations for the Check In process as well as at our Camp Store and Registration booths. Our Check In event is at the Mall of America and is an electronic process to help create a smooth logistical event.Volunteer opportunities for Check In:

Treasurer - We are looking for a Treasurer to serve on our board who would be responsible for oversight of the larger picture of our finances. Ideally, this person will engage in creating systems to support financial management of funds. We will hire a CPA for the end of year reporting and would still like our Treasurer to help in the process of end of year reporting. We are looking for someone with at least 5-10 years of experience in the financial field.General Board Seat - We have several spots open for general board members that bring to the table expertise and/or a strong network. Bonus if you have extensive experience with: strategy and scaling or exceptional education background or psychology or government.
Board Commitment
G.R.O.W .’s board members have a legal and ethical responsibility to ensure that the organization does the best work possible in pursuit of its goals. Being a board member means you will act responsibly and prudently. Being passionate about our mission is a must.
As part of my responsibilities as a Board member:
1. I will interpret the organization's work and values to the community, represent the organization, and act as an ambassador.
2. We have bi-annual board meetings via conference call and at times have additional board meetings or votes conducted by email. I will attend at least 75% of board meetings, including committees I am assigned to.
3. I will RSVP my attendance for Board meetings or Board committee meetings at least one day in advance to either the G.R.O.W. Board President (for board meetings) or the Committee Chair (for committees to which I am assigned.)
4. Each year I will make a personal financial contribution at a level that is meaningful to me.
5. I agree to a give/get system of contributing a minimum of 10k annually to the organization.
6. I will act in the best interests of the organization, and excuse myself from discussions and votes where I have a conflict of interest.
7. I will stay informed about the activities and current issues at G.R.O.W. I will ask questions and request information. I will participate in and take responsibility for making decisions on issues, policies and other board matters.
8. I will work in good faith with staff and other Board members as partners towards achievement of our goals.
In turn, G.R.O.W. will be responsible to me in several ways:
1. I will be sent an agenda and materials at least two days prior to the board meeting.
2. The Organization will help me perform my duties by keeping me informed about issues addressing financial/ economic challenges,
3. The Organization will be of assistance to any challenges to the best of their abilities.
4. I will be offered opportunities for professional development as a Board member.
5. Board members and staff will respond in a straightforward fashion to questions that I feel are necessary to carry out my fiscal, legal and moral responsibilities to this organization. Board members and staff will work in good faith with me towards achievement of our goals.
6. If the organization does not fulfill its commitments to me, I can call on the Board President and Executive Director to discuss the Organization's responsibilities with me.
