We welcome volunteers to help set-up, assist with registration, and to take the plunge!! This is a family-friendly event and we would like to invite associates and their families to join in on the fun. We have three Penguin Plunges happening this weekend, and if you are interested in checking out our other plunge events you can visit www.soct.org/penguinplunge. Our plunges have had multiple Kohl's stores involved over the years and we would love to continue the involvement! This year is particularly special as we are celebrating 50 years of Special Olympics!

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The Peoria Diamond Club (PDC) volunteers hold a wide variety of positions at the Spring Training baseball games of the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres. For example, we usher, take tickets, work the parking lots, provide Guest Services, sell scorecards, monitor group events, etc. There is on-the-job training and likely something right for you! If you are active and able, your experience will not only be fun, but rewarding. The PDC gives back to the community, in the way of grant funding, to northwest valley youth charities. It's a win-win for everyone. We ask for an 8 game minimum out of the spring training month and the assignments are typically a 4 hour shift.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, fill out the application here: https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?ap=133812818

Help those who lack access to fresh, affordable, high-quality food in your community, learn more about growing food sustainably, and spend time outside on a farm with The Food Project's Serve & Grow volunteer program!

Each year, The Food Project works with over 140 teens and thousands of volunteers to sustainably farm 70 acres in Boston, Lincoln, Lynn, and Wenham. These farms grow over 200,000 pounds of produce that is donated to hunger relief organizations, sold through community-supported agriculture shares, and sold at farmers markets that accept and match federal nutrition benefits such as SNAP and WIC.

During the spring and the fall, The Food Project relies on volunteers to keep the farms up and running. Volunteers learn about The Food Project and the food system and engage in a variety of farm tasks such as planting, weeding, harvesting, washing vegetables, and cleaning up the land.

Please reach out to volunteer@thefoodproject.org to reserve your spot today!

Held annually at the Plunkett Estate in London, Ontario, over 6,000 people attend the Bark in the Park Festival, showing support for London Humane Society. It's a day filled with fun, including: food and product vendors, live entertainment, silent auction, dock-diving, dog lure course and more!

In order to ensure that this annual fundraising event is a success, we require the assistance of over 100 volunteers.

Bark in the Park Festival is the largest annual fundraiser for London Humane Society, helping to raise much needed funds to provide medical care, shelter and find appropriate new families for nearly 1,500 animals each year. With your support as a volunteer, we can make a difference in the lives of surrendered, neglected and mistreated animals in our community.

Fertility Within Reach, Inc. is seeking individuals interested in serving our organization as members of our Board of Directors (BOD).

Fertility Within Reach (FWR) is a not-for-profit organization serving as an educational resource that increases fertility awareness, enables access to assisted reproductive treatment and preserves fertility for all who need it.

The BOD is responsible for developing the overall operating policies for and providing guidance to Fertility Within Reach (FWR). The BOD is actively involved in the development and deployment of programs and services consistent with our mission.

Board members are asked to participate in board meetings (Each year, three meetings are 1.5 hours and one is a 2 hour meeting). Board members are asked to designate time to their role on the board. This can vary, but FWR would greatly benefit from at least one hour per month.

One of our Board Members said it best: “Having experienced the devastating impact, medically, financially and emotionally, of being rendered infertile and void of ANY guidance and support, I am incredibly grateful to be able to serve on FWR’s Board and try to help others so that they do NOT have to deal with the same issues. This is one of the most rewarding roles I have ever undertaken.”

If you have any questions contact Davina Fankhauser, President (dfankhauser@fertilitywithinreach.org or 857-636-8674). We are very excited at the prospect of working together. Thank you for your consideration!
