Our Cultural Exchange Program brings individuals and groups of volunteers to BPP from an afternoon to a full semester. Through volunteerism, students are exposed to English total immersion and interact with diverse populations within a positive setting that helps them healthily integrate into the rising tourism industry. Our Cultural Exchange Program is also one of the biggest ways we have been able to grow towards more long-term self-sustainability for our organization.We work with you to create a customized volunteering experience that align's your interests with the programs needs.
Cultural Exchange Package Options:
1. The Local package is USD 295/week and includes homestay accommodation including 3 meals/day, 20 hours of private Spanish Classes, and 15 hours of volunteering
2. The Resident package is USD 225/week and includes Homestay + Volunteering
3. The Spanish Speaker is USD 215/week and includes Spanish Classes + Volunteering
4. The Voluntourist is USD 30/half day, USD 60/full day and customized activities are offered for groups of 6 or more.

This event is for adults living with intellectual disabilities, and is facilitated by Seafair at the Meydenbauer Yacht Club of Bellevue. The Highland Community Center makes this free event available to our clients by providing a volunteer to join them on their cruise. Volunteers will join a group of clients aboard a yacht to cruise around Lake Washington. Each yacht will be decorated with lights and other festive gear. The yachts light up the lake as their cruise the shoreline, listening to holiday classics, talking to Santa on the radio, and visiting with Santa later in the evening.Available Shifts

Dear Friend of MDA!
The 2016 MDA Chicago Muscle Team Event takes place on Friday, October 21st at Navy Pier & we would love for you to join our team as a volunteer this year! This high-energy, sports-themed event pairs local and national athletes, celebrities and military personnel with MDA’s Most Valuable Players (MVPs) — our local children and adults living with neuromuscular disease.
Throughout the night, guests will enjoy:
• Live and Silent Auctions
• Fine food and beverages in the historic atmosphere of Chicago’s Navy Pier Grand Ballroom
• The opportunity to mingle with local business leaders as well as our celebrity athletes and MDA ambassadors
With your help we are looking to continue putting on the same great event that helps fuel progress in MDA’s mission to save and improve the lives of kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and other diseases that take away strength and mobility.
Volunteers are needed to assist with many things including registration, the auctions and auction check-out, several attractions and much more. Our event will be starting at 6:00 p.m., with VIP guests arriving at .We are asking volunteers to come at 4:00 in order to provide them time to eat a light dinner and briefly go over last minute volunteer instructions.

Reporting to the Development Director, the Fundraising Coordinator Committee Member will oversee and implement strategic, sustainable, long-range fundraising and development plans. This role will work closely with different EKARI Foundation committees, Executive Director, Board President and community partners to identify and achieve overall goals for fundraising events and efforts.Responsibilities
• Assist with fundraising initiatives, efforts and plans to raise resources, to build organizational capacity and fund EKARI’s programs in Malawi
• Cultivation and prospect research
• Assist in writing and implementing a relationship building strategy
• Assist and support with all of EKARI’s fundraising efforts and annual event
Qualifications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
• Strong computer skills
• Well organized, detail-oriented and resourceful
• Previous fundraising & donor outreach
• Event coordination experience
• Ability to ask for donations

Time Commitment
This position requires a commitment of 3 - 5 hours per week for a minimum of one year. We offer a lot of flexibility in when and how you complete those hours and many of the tasks and responsibilities can be done remotely, working online, at a time that is convenient for you. Every committee member is invited to attend a monthly board of directors meeting.
Compensation
This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation. Our organization is 100% volunteer run, excluding staff in Malawi and our Executive Director.

This role will be part of the Marketing Committee. Volunteer will assist in increasing awareness of Empowerment Through Connection and its goals to help increase community engagement and patrons.
