ETC provides girls and young women ages 14-25 with an unforgettable adventure and a community of their own.We have decades of combined experience and set high expectations for training: our lead facilitators hold education and/or experience in one of several equine facilitative learning or coaching certifications. Our leaders are passionate about the horses and love teaching / mentoring young people.
ETC is an environmental education organization based in Clearview WA that inspires transformative growth, teaches appreciation and stewardship of the natural world, and challenges people to build thriving, sustainable communities throughout their lives. Since 2010, ETC’s, equine programs have taught teens, adults, and families the importance of equine stewardship.
ETC believes in the power of unplugging from ordinary life and connecting instead with the nature, oneself, and others in seeking new awareness and from that place, looking at where one wants to shift or change. Find out what's out there---and what's inside of you. Develop leadership skills. Be part of a small group tending horses and learning about yourself. If you're looking for challenge, friendship, and a new understanding of yourself and the world, we want to take you outside.
If you are looking for an opportunity to develop teen girls and young women into our next generation of leaders, this may be a great fit for you. Email us at info@empowermentthoughconnection.org and find out how you can participate.

Hello! Our school raises a sizable portion of our PTA budget for arts, garden programming, music, field trips, tutoring, etc. through our annual school auction. We have lost our tech person who set up the software for vendor solicitation, item posting on eBay, and item fulfillment for our winners. We use BlueSky software, but we'd certainly be open to other suggestions. Can you help our 600 kids? Many thanks!Available Shifts

The Hillsborough Education Foundation is seeking mentors in Hillsborough County for the 2018-2019 school year. The Hillsborough Education Foundation provides scholarships and mentors for over 400 low-income students between 6th and 12th grade in the county through the Take Stock in Children program.Become a caring mentor for an at-risk youth and make a difference in a child's life today! Mentoring helps students succeed, achieve, and graduate from school. The role of a mentor is to provide a listening ear, valuable guidance, and academic assistance to help students experience greater success. Your guidance can help build a foundation of basic values and challenge students to take responsibility for their own actions. They can start to set goals and understand the importance of staying in school.
Volunteers must be able to meet weekly with the assigned student on school grounds during school hours (7:30am-3:00pm.)
As students begin to realize that someone cares, school absenteeism decreases, academic performance improves and self-esteem increases. Studies show that high-risk students with a mentor are: 46% more likely to stay drug-free 27% more likely to stay alcohol-free 62% more likely not to skip school 37% more likely to avoid violence.

You can make a difference by volunteering with the Teaching Tools Store!Over 1000 people of all ages volunteered over 6,500 hours last year to support the Hillsborough Education Foundation’s mission and help students reach their full potential by generously donating their time and talent. Our volunteers are critical partners in helping us operate the Teaching Tools Store. They help us re-stock shelves, sorting and repacking donated school supplies and assisting in teacher check-out. Without them, our students without the basic school supplies would not receive free pencils, crayons and paper throughout the school year.
The Teaching Tools Store has several volunteer options so you can choose a time commitment that works with your schedule whether it is once per week or once per month. Volunteer hours and days depend on which opportunity you choose.
Students can also volunteer for their community service hours. Students ages 11-14 can volunteer at the Store with a parent or guardian present. Students ages 15 and over may fulfill their community service hours at the Store with parent or guardian consent.
No matter how you volunteer, the rewards are many and exceed the good feeling you will get from helping our students. You will be making a lasting difference in the life of a student by helping us provide something as simple as a pencil. Please join us.
