Feel supporting well-being is important for kids, adults and the community?Then we need your help! :o) We are in need of help in planning a fundraising and awareness event in support of our work at Camp Kindness Counts. Our vision is a Walk for Kindness event. Individuals can walk with their family or friends in a spaces comfortable to them and at a time convenient to them--- walk for kindness!

We need your help in supporting mental/health wellbeing of children through character development and making kindness, compassion, and empathy common in our community culture! We want to be able to provide our program to a diverse population of kids including underserved children. Our program focuses on gaining skills which help us lead positive and productive lives. We provide young people and adults the experiences needed to become kind leaders in schools and positive change makers in our communities. In order to accomplish this goal we need to secure grant funding to sustain our programing.

On Thursday, November 5, 2015 Grant A Gift Autism Foundation will hold its 6th Annual Fashion for Autism Gala at the Aria Hotel and Crystals. Over the past years, Fashion for Autism has grown into a wonderful event filled with great FUNDRAISING, FASHION and lots of FUN.Proceeds from this event will help supply center diagnostic services, treatment and other support services which include social skills groups, teen transition work programs, speech therapy, sibling support workshops and local operations in Southern Nevada to effectively serve our families living with autism spectrum disorder. It will also help to provide sponsorships to children who are in need of services, and change a life forever!
Location: ARIA Convention Center
Date: Thursday, November 5th, 2015
Volunteer shifts: 3:30pm - 9:30pm
Volunteer areas to include, but are not limited to:
Guest Greeters, Registration Check-in/out, Silent Auction Set-Up & Support, Ballroom Ushers, etc.
There will also be a short, required pre-gala meeting that will take place on Monday, November 2nd, with two possible times in order to accommodate different schedules. This will just be a quick overview of the who,what,when,where, and why aspects of the event itself.

On October 10th, The Jensie Gran Fondo will be taking place in Marin County. In order to make this wonderful day happen, we depend on the selfless and generous efforts of the volunteer network that supports us. With 100 miles of beautiful California roads and a spectacular expo at the end of the ride, we are looking for volunteers to help us on every range of the spectrum. As some perks of joining the crew for The Jensie Gran Fondo, we listed a few benefits for helping out. (Volunteers will be rewarded!)We are expecting roughly 2,000 riders for The Jensie Gran Fondo this October. We are looking for enthusiastic and helpful people to assist us with making this event possible! Below are the different types of positions available to volunteers. The people that work these events and their willingness to help are the true backbone to what makes it all possible. We hope to see you out there with us for this wonderful weekend in Marin!

Pre-Event Check-In- We will need assistance checking riders in and providing necessary information for the following day.

Pre-Event Venue Set-Up We will need assistance preparing the area around Stafford Lake for the next day.

Below are some of the tasks at the expo that we will need help with:

Corner Marshals- Stationed along the route making sure that riders make the turns and follow the route
Rest Stop Assistance- Helping prepare snacks and hydration at Rest Stops
Hydration Station Assistance- Refilling the water at select hydration stops

We will need assistance breaking down the event and getting things packed up
SAG Support
Support and Gear (SAG) is preferably for people with a car and bicycle rack. You will be throughout the course assisting riders when needed.
Where would you prefer to be stationed?
These are for the people who would like to volunteer at the rest stops along the Fondo course. This may be easier for some depending on where they live and to what areas they are accessible to reaching. Exact times for when to be at each will be out soon!

At Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA), we generate culture that moves people. Whether it be showcasing world-class art, hosting community think tanks, providing free arts education to elementary school students, providing paid working opportunities in the arts for high school students, engaging our local community through street art prototypes, or any of our other programs -- we're trying to create the change we want to see in the world, and we need your help.We rely on the support of our community through membership sales. Memberships not only support us financially but help create a tangible relationship between us and our supporters that allows us to go deeper than just the donation. Members receive access to the arts and become part of the movement with us. We need your help selling memberships to build our community!
This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to be more involved in the SF arts scene, loves YBCA, and/or wants to help us meet our fundraising goals.
Principal Responsibilities
As a membership volunteer, you’ll help us sell memberships to meet our fundraising goals and continually grow our YBCA community! Your duties will be to: proactively engage patrons at events, facilitate onsite membership sales with attention to detail and a good sales pitch, make friendly and welcoming conversation with patrons, and answer questions regarding the event, upcoming programs, and benefits of membership.
Qualification/Requirements
A good position for outgoing personalities who can stand/walk outside for periods of time. Must be able to operate mobile tablet and Square software, process credit cards and handles cash (we’ll provide training). Also must be knowledgeable about YBCA, the event being worked, upcoming YBCA events, membership program and benefits, and where to get food and drink nearby (don’t worry, we’ll equip you with all this information!).

We are looking for volunteers to serve in one of our Committees.- Finance (Disappearing Task Force)
- Special Events/Campaigns (i.e., phone-a-thon, holiday assistance, and house parties)
- Corporate Partnerships

Your job would be to collaboratively plan and implement strategies to further our organization's cause.
Requirements & Commitment:

- Between 2-5 hour per month
- Experience in a field that has skills that will lend themselves to the development and growth of the organization's presence in the community.

Opportunity Details
Volunteers would need be technologically experienced. Volunteers would work at registration and as assistants to the guests at the annual fundraising gala/auction. Electronic bidding is available, and the guests may be unfamiliar with the system and need assistance.We request that volunteers who work registration attend extra training the week before the event.
This event is the major annual fundraising event for Heartstrings Community Foundation and success is crucial!
