Volunteer Times
-Volunteer shifts run from 5 PM to 9 PM. Shift time may vary slightly based event needs.
Who can volunteer?
-Individuals and groups of any size are welcome.
How old must I be to volunteer?
-Individuals 18 years of age and older may serve as volunteers. Children ages 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Physical Requirements and Dress Code
Volunteers must:
-Be able to comfortably lift up to 25 lbs.
-Be comfortable standing for up to 4 hours.
-Have own transportation.
-Be available for the entire shift.
-Wear closed toe shoes (athletic shoes suggested), comfortable pants or shorts. Volunteer t-shirt will be provided on-site.
Community Service Hours
-We are happy to sign off on paperwork required to fulfill school community service requirements.

Opportunity Details
Started in 2011, the annual Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival has quickly become the largest educational event in Nevada. The Festival draws thousands of participants over nine jam-packed days of FREE events all across the Las Vegas Valley. Through engaging and educational programming, the Festival strives to spark curiosity and highlight the amazing science, technology, engineering, and math taking place right here in our community. The Festival makes science fun, accessible, and engaging for everyone - kids, families and adults. With over 100 organizations participating, interest in the Festival continues to increase and grow each year.This volunteer opportunity is over two days. Volunteers are asked to help do some heavy lifting, moving items from room to room, bending over to pick up light to heavy objects, as well as the potential for unloading/loading from a truck. Long periods of standing. Long distances of walking. Some tasks may even require long periods of sitting. The final day of this Festival is taking place at the World Market Center and as a team, we will be helping to set up vendors, direct guest foot traffic, help check guests in and out and then help tear down at the end.
Friday, May 2, 2025, will consist of helping to offload trucks and vehicles for various vendors, helping to stage and build booths for various vendors, and other tasks that may include bending, lifting, standing and walking for long periods of time.
Saturday, May 3, 2025, will consist of helping various vendor booths, checking in guests, giving directions to guests, assisting booths with directions and crowd control, assisting the LVNHM booth with tasks and crowd control, break down and load in of booths at the end of the event.
Shifts can be adjusted to accommodate team sign ups, so we avoid too many volunteers and not enough tasks. Final schedule to be determined closer to May. The Las Vegas Natural History Museum Volunteer Coordinator will email an exact schedule for these two dates. Volunteers are NOT expected to work the full 11 hour shift- the schedules will vary. This is to give everyone the heads up that the opportunity could start early and end late.

Individuals requiring community service hours for school or scholarships are welcome to apply.

Leftovers is a food rescue charity with a dual mission of mobilizing community to reduce food waste and increase food access.Our volunteers pick up otherwise wasted food from local grocers, bakers, cafes and restaurants and take it directly to service agencies. All that is needed to volunteer is a car and the Rescue Food App which was developed as a simple method for volunteers to get food into the hands of people that need it the most.

Do you want to inspire students to reach their goals this season?More than 2,800 middle and high school students in Students Run LA (SRLA) are training alongside their teachers to complete the Los Angeles Marathon in March 2023.
SRLA students are currently in the midst of long marathon training miles and could use a little motivation… that’s where YOU come in!
We are asking supporters to write “Motivational Valentines” to SRLA students, encouraging them to keep moving forward towards the marathon finish line in March as well as the graduation stage in May.
These personal notes mean so much to our students. You can inspire and motivate a student to help them achieve their marathon dreams.
Here’s how to send your Motivational Valentine:
1. Write 1 (or more!) card or letter to a Students Run LA student encouraging them to keep on running! Please do not address these to a certain individual, they will be passed out randomly to students. Here is an example of what your Motivational Valentine might say:
Hi SRLA Runner,
Great job sticking to your training and staying committed during this tough season. You are awesome! Good luck at the marathon. Remember, if you put your mind to it you can do anything!
