We have a number of small projects for creating tools and opportunities for social and tech4good startups, also for people with lower possibilities. We need help to create a simple but comprehensive system to manage multiple projects and implement them efficiently, making maximum impact. Also, more and more community is growing, and we want them to keep and interact with them continuously. But we face a challenge with data in different places project by project. We are looking for a professional who could help us to create a more collective impact and save our time on beaurocrasy.

The Pet Food Pantry is a community resource to assist low-income families and individuals in the City of Los Angeles experiencing financial hardship who need help feeding their animal companions.

The LAAS Pet Food Pantry program receives large donation trucks full of pet food and LAAS volunteers meet at our service centers to unload the pet food in order to disseminate these donations to low-income families in Los Angeles that are struggling to feed their pets.

LAAS Pet Food Pantry is available at three of our locations, East Valley, North Central, and Chesterfield Square (South LA), and feeds over 1100 pets each week. Pet food resources can dwindle in many sectors of animal care, so we also use these large pet food donations to help other shelters, foster programs, and local rescues with their pet food needs.

We need you to join our volunteers in unloading the donation truck, and sorting and organizing the food. Together we can finish the task faster, burn some calories, and end up feeding over 1100 pets.

This community intervention is vital in helping reduce the amount of owner-surrendered animals coming to our shelters and keeping those pets in their homes with their families.

Serve and love one another – a great way to do this is by delivering a hot meal to our frailest neighbors. You and your team can host a route once a week, taking turns with who delivers each week (once a month opportunities to deliver are also available). For instance, your team can delivery route 5 every Tuesday, and depending on how many team members you have, some folks may only deliver once every couple months.

Routes typically take less than one hour to complete and can be picked up at Fresh meals On Wheels on Taylor Drive at 11:10 a.m. Contact Meals On Wheels at 451-7011 for more information.
