The End Childhood Cancer Walk/Run is back in spook-tacular form on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Hosted at the Philadelphia Navy Yard’s Marine Parade Grounds, this inspiring 5K (3.1 miles) is returning with some new tricks and treats. With the event falling on Halloween weekend, we are encouraging participants to dress up in their costumes for an extra fun and festive event! There will even be a Halloween costume contest where we will award the best costume with a special prize.Participants are given the option to register for free as a walker, $15 as an awareness walker or $25 as an awareness runner. All awareness runners and walkers will receive a limited-edition, spooktacular t-shirt. We are also offering participants the option to walk/run with us virtually. Join us on October 29, as we take strides for better cures and treatments for childhood cancer.
The End Childhood Cancer Walk/Run is family-friendly, dog-friendly, and encourages participants to fundraise on their own personal fundraising page.

Yachtstock Riverjam is annual concert fundraiser for Yachtstock, Inc. ,a 501c3 children's charity. Everyone at Yachtstock is a volunteer including the 24 Bands. We need a volunteers for a 3- or 4-hour shift. Help is needed for Ticket booth, Security, Parking, Silent auction and Raffles. Help us help families with chronically ill children and the bonus is a day filled with live music and a strong sense of community! Volunteers are signing on now for the Center for Grieving Children's annual Swing "Fore" the Center golf tournament on Tuesday, September 26th, and we hope you will be one of them!Each year, this tournament makes an incredible impact for our Center families, helping to raise the funding needed to keep our services available at no cost, for as long as they are needed. We hope you will join us for a day outdoors filled with fun and community while helping continue to ensure that no child grieves alone.

Habitat for Humanity of North Central Connecticut would like to invite individuals from The Hartford to join us at our ReStore in Bloomfield!Location: 500 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield
Our ReStore is a donation center that accepts new and lightly used household goods, building materials, furniture, appliances, and so much more! Open to the public to both shop and to donate, all proceeds from the sale of items at our ReStore go directly back into our mission to provide affordable homeownership opportunities for our community.
Duties at the ReStore may include offloading donation trucks, consolidating inventory in our warehouse, sales floor beautification and additional special project duties. Our team will provide a safety briefing and overview of all tasks on deck at the start of the day.
Important Information:
Face Masks – All volunteers will be required to bring and wear (if requested) their own face masks. No exceptions, entry will be denied without a face mask. Masks may be surgical, N95, cloth, gaiter, or other face coverings. Material must fully cover the mouth and nose, remain secured to the head, and cannot have long fabric or strings that could get caught on something, i.e. scarves.
Health – Any volunteer who indicates or appears to be sick will be asked to leave immediately. We are requesting any volunteer who is sick to stay home, no matter how mild their symptoms may be. Any volunteer that is immunocompromised or has concerns with potential exposure should not volunteer with Habitat at this time.
Food & Beverage – Volunteers must bring their own water and snacks. We will have our standard morning and lunch breaks, but Habitat will NOT provide any beverages or snacks. Please bring enough water to stay well hydrated throughout the day.
Habitat will provide a catered lunch for your team on this date from David Alan Hospitality Group!
Attire - Construction Comfortable - Please wear appropriate clothing, and dress in layers for the weather. Keep in mind that clothing may get extremely dirty through the service day, and construction materials may leave permanent reminders of your service. DO NOT WEAR YOUR FAVORITE OUTFIT!
Footwear - ONLY CLOSED TOE SHOES WILL BE PERMITTED ON SITE. Flip flops, high heels, and Crocs will NOT be allowed.

Time: 7:45AM arrival at the Carpool Parking Location, 8AM arrival at the Build Site
Parking is limited at the build location, carpooling to the site is necessary. Carpools must be full with at least 4 volunteers per vehicle to maximize available parking!
