We love trees! We love planting them and watching them grow.We want to give every child this joy.
And, in the process, beautify our neighborhoods, remove carbon from the atmosphere, and help instill in the hearts of our little ones a sense of magic, wonder, and love for our planet.
Neighborhood Forest is a non-profit, social venture dedicated to giving children their very own tree to plant on Earth Day – for free – every spring. Since 2010, Neighborhood Forest has mobilized over 2,000 schools, libraries, and youth groups, engaged over 500,000 volunteers, and given over 197,000 trees to children in all 50 states (plus Canada and Mexico).
Our dream is to reach every child in North America and eventually the world.
We create volunteer opportunities for corporations, which help us reach more children.
Some of these opportunities include:
- Employee pledge drives
- Employee tree plantings, which help fund more trees for kids
- Tree shipping, logistics, and delivery
- Indoor plant kit creation and delivery for kids living in apartments
- Youth engagement and education

Hello, I hope all is well. My name is Brittany Campbell and I am the Founder of Strengthening Transformations Inc. a non-profit organization out of Versailles. We are having an upcoming event our 4th Annual Friendship Fest on Saturday, July 30th from. 2-6pm at the Woodford County Fairgrounds (293 Beasley Rd.). This event is to bring awareness not only about our organization Strengthening Transformations Inc. and what we are doing in the community, but to also provide a time for the community to come together. As you may know, Versailles is a small town located right outside Lexington. The people there know each other, but are not always afforded times to come together for fellowship and fun. We decided to create a summer fest that allows this to take place. What makes this fest unique is that we are offering free haircuts and hair styles for the kids, along with a hygiene bags (toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, dental floss, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash and/or soap) to encourage self care.
Strengthening Transformations is an organization that caters to the well being of women and families. Some of the families we are trying to reach, have children that may not have these items, or even access to personal care. We want to give that to them, along with a great time of food, fun, face painting, inflatables, pony rides, giveaways, and games, to reiterate the importance of togetherness and taking care of yourself. Cause when you look good, you feel good!
The hair services, hygiene bags, food, DJ, service and time have all been donated by volunteers and various local businesses.
If you need anything else, or more information, please do not hesitate. We look forward to hearing from you soon! Have a wonderful day! :)

CrowdDoing studied biophilia in cities and found that there are more than one hundred diseases that can be prevented through access to nature.[1] Nature Counter is a CrowdDoing concept, soon to become a functional prototype that lets each person see if they are getting that level of time in nature per week or per month. Time in nature is approximated through the kind of nature that exists in cities-- geo-locations of people based on their cell phones when they are in parks. Nature Counter tracks each person’s time spent in parks when the application is on. This allows people to track it the way step counters track the number of steps they take. The aim is to have a universal public health goal of getting the city’s people to have enough time in parks to realize the biophilia collective health dividend. The concept is that spending time in nature is both an individual activity and a collective goal that friends should encourage each-other to achieve. Nature Counter is aimed at getting each person to track their time in nature and adjust their calendar over time to increase that time. Our estimations are that people’s time in nature would rise if they could track this and have target goals for their health due to time in nature accordingly. 120 Minutes per week in nature is also geo-locateable on phones. Have you gotten your 120 minutes a week at medium edose nature, or 90 minutes a day of high dose nature? That is determinable by if your smart phone shows you in the park for how many minutes. We aim to build an app that counts how many minutes in nature each week you have spent and reporting that back to the person. This is like step counts, but based on time in nature as walks through non-parks don’t count for the nature counter. Time in parks or on coasts count. Can we validate against known locations of parks? I see ""park"" is a place type on google;s api for example- (https://developers.google.com/places/supported_types).
