Nature Counter by CrowdDoing Volunteer Senior React Native Developer (with background info)https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qfGnXijZjF7q5aFwzNHfAo5OPAG0vu9Y/view?usp=sharing)CrowdDoing has found small groups of trained professionals who know about specific nature benefits. There are people who have been trained in ""Attention Restoration Theory"", ""forest bathing"", ""eco-therapy"", ""nature deficit disorder reduction"", and other related terms. This has not be turned into a universal type of knowledge for any society to adopt in a modern context of majorities of the population living in cities and suburbs. CrowdDoing’s goal with Nature Counter is to create universal usable knowledge about what the benefits of nature dose are, how to access the benefits of nature dose and how to validate nature dose benefits for yourself. A world with more advanced processes to support nature dose could be more convivial, more resilient, would have faster learners and greater upward mobility among a plethora of benefits. Calculate the benefits to the health care system of their getting nature dose
CrowdDoing.world, https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/74278432/
Our nature counter application gets people an expectation of benefit proportionately. We have a partially finished android and iphone app in gitab aiming at an MVP, and plans for a V2 partially developed. The app is not on the market yet.
People who live in cities and the communities that connect them can achieve goals through increasing their nature dose. There is a user-centered design gap in nature in culture in that it is not discussed in terms of its benefits. Exercise may have an obvious connection to health but the fact that people sitting on a park bench are experiencing a scientifically established public health benefit is not universally understood. Scientists have been explaining this to other researchers but it hasn’t become universal knowledge any country in the world.

""A recent study of 20,000 people published in the journal Scientific Reports finds that people who spend at least 120 minutes per week - that’s about 18 minutes a day - in nature are far more likely to report being in good health and having higher psychological well-being, as compared to those who don’t embrace nature. People who spent some time in nature, but fewer than 120 minutes a week, ""were no more likely to report good health or high well-being than those who reported 0 minutes,"" the study authors found.""

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/13/health/nature-outdoors-health.html
120 Minutes per week in nature is also geo-locateable on phones. Have you gotten your 120 minutes a week at medium edose nature, or 90 minutes a day of high dose nature?
That is determinable by if your smart phone shows you in the park for how many minutes.
We aim to build an app that counts how many minutes in nature each week you have spent and reporting that back to the person. This is like step counts, but based on time in nature as walks through non-parks don’t count for the nature counter.
- Participate in weekly discussions across teams and stakeholders on ways to reach project goals.
Time-based nature benefits-
15 Minutes in Nature
Decrease in pulse rate by 3.9%
Decrease in systolic blood pressure by 1.9%
Decrease in diastolic blood pressure by 2.1%
Lower levels of cortisol (stress hormone)
Increased parasympathetic nerve activity and decreased sympathetic nerve activity. The sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems work together to control respiration, digestion, and heart rate. When you are calm, the parasympathetic nervous system is increased, lowering your heart rate and respiration, and increasing digestion. In a stressful situation, the fight or flight (sympathetic) response is triggered, dilating pupils, increasing heart rate and respiration, which allows you to breathe faster.
Feel more relaxed, yet energized
30 minutes in nature
All of the benefits from 15 minutes in nature AND
Increased attention span
Reduction in depression symptoms by 7%
Reduction in high blood pressure by 9%
50 minutes in nature
All of the benefits from 15, 30, and 40 minutes in nature AND
An increased attention span with the ability to block out irrelevant stimuli and concentrate
A decreased level of anxiety
120 minutes (2 hours) in nature
All of the benefits from 15, 30, 40, and 50 minutes in nature AND
An overall sense of well-being and happiness
A better, more restful sleep
150 minutes (2.5 hours) in nature
All of the benefits from 15, 30, 40, 50, and 120 minutes in nature AND
Reduction in feelings of anxiety
Reduced need to ruminate on past events and focus on the future
200 minutes in nature
All of the benefits from 15, 30, 40, 50, and 120 minutes in nature AND
The feeling of well-being and happiness
Nature benefits we're communicating:
Performance on backwards digit-span (a cognitively demanding task that requires directed attention/requires the person to block out irrelevant stimuli and focus) significantly improved while walking in nature Maintain the focus staring at something on paper better during and after a walk in nature. The ability to focus was not only recuperated by nature, but was even better compared to before going out into nature. A faster and more stable pattern of responding on the Attention Network Task Cognitive performance especially for self-perceived affect was found to improve significantly more after nature interactions compared to urban interactions. Overall, BDS ( backwards digit span) performance improved on average by 0.75 (SD = 2.11) points from pre- to post-nature interactions and 0.29 (SD = 2.19) BDS points from pre- to post urban environment interactions. Reduce the population prevalence of depression and high blood pressure by up to 7% and 9% respectively. A lower rates of depression and of high blood pressure. 3.9% decrease in pulse rate. Systolic blood pressure was lower (1.9% decrease). Diastolic blood pressure was lower (2.1% decrease). good reported health and high subjective wellbeing lower concentrations of cortisol, lower pulse rate, lower blood pressure, greater parasympathetic nerve activity, and lower sympathetic nerve activity walking leads to improved psychological state, reduced state-anxiety and perceived stress

Agile Project Manager for Nature Counter by CrowdDoing.worldWe are seeking this project manager volunteer to support our Nature Counter team in spreading adoption fo biophelia as a public health benefit. We are building an app and need project managers to help us with this impact goal.
You can see benefits of time in the park put on Nature Counter's linkedin page here- https://www.linkedin.com/posts/nature-counter-by-crowddoing_forestbathing-naturedose-attentionrestorationtheory-activity-6805531019593302016-1hnd, You can see more background on our Nature Counter team here- https://www.linkedin.com/posts/nature-counter-by-crowddoing_forestbathing-naturedose-attentionrestorationtheory-activity-6805531019593302016-1hnd. You can see a post about how just 30 minutes a week in nature reduces the chance of depression by 7%.
120 minutes a week in nature is a basic minimal nature dose every person in a city should
achieve as a matter of public health. 90 minutes a day five days a week every week is an
optimal recommended dose of nature for every person in a city. CrowdDoing studied biophelia
in cities and found that there are more than one hundred diseases that can be prevented
through access to nature. Nature Counter is a CrowdDoing concept, imminently to become a
functional prototype that lets each person see if they are getting that level of time in nature per
week or per month. Time in nature is approximated through the kind of nature that exists in
cities- geo-locations of people based on their cell phones when they are in parks. Nature
Counter tracks each person’s time in park when the application is on. This allows people to
track it the way step counters track it. The aim is to have a universal public health goal of
getting the city’s people to have enough time in parks to realize the biophelia collective health
dividend. The concept is that nature is both an individual activity and a collective goal that
friends should encourage each-other to achieve. Nature Counter is aimed at getting each
person to track their time in nature and adjust their calendar over time to increase their time in
nature. Our estimations are that people’s time in nature would rise if they could track this and
have target goals for their health due to time in nature accordingly.
Biophelia counter builds off of the evidence that people who use step counters walk 27%
more than people who don’t. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/21901412/ns/health-fitness/t/people-
walk-mile-more-if-wearing-pedometer/ Assuming Nature Counter can achieve similar results
for biophelia, whatever percentage of the city who downloaded the nature counter application.
Assuming that San Francisco residents visit parks at an average level, they would visit parks
29 times a year- https://www.nrpa.org/blog/29-number-of-times-americans-visit-their-local-
parks-annually/. Assuming the minimal dose goal, each person would need to increase that by
another 40% to get to an average of a weekly visit to a local park and experience of biophelia.
Each person would need to expand that dose by 1000% to reach the optimal dose. This is
where a biophelia counter can come it and help people reach for more biophelia time in their
lives.
The only way CrowdDoing.world can realize its impact potential is through virtual volunteers, service learners(http://blog.reframeit.com/service-learning-and-skilled-volunteering/), and micro-leaders (https://real-leaders.com/leveraging-micro-leadership-to-make-aspirational-goals-achievable/) coming together.

Micro-leadership means that each person adopts a dimension of responsibility for a collective problem in our society through collaborating on that area creatively individually and together through social innovation.
CrowdDoing’s Nature Counter helps democratizes Attention Restoration Theory/
Biophelia/ Nature Therapy, giving everyone greater access to the benefits of nature.
Outcomes for Nature Counter rely upon increasing time in nature/outdoors as a way to
replicate the benefits from empirical studies in terms of mood, attention, productivity,
and wellbeing.
Our meta-analysis and literature review have shown that there can be significant health
impacts from 30-60 minutes of immersion in nature in a public park / leisurely forest
walks:18 It can reduce depression by 7%;; Can reduce high blood pressure by 9%;
improve memory performance and attention spans by 20%; and decrease in the stress
hormone cortisol by 12.4%.
Three days of immersion in nature increases creativity by 50% 19 We have found that
""2.5 to 3% of a person’s mental health is based on how often they visit parks. ... about
the same as the effect of additional income on a person’s mental health.""20 Two hours
of afternoon forest walking increases sleep by 13%.21 CrowdDoing’s Nature Counter
built a prototype of a mini-course to help educate on the benefits of nature as part of
our service learning strategy:

CrowdDoing.world Podcast creation volunteerMarketing Volunteer, CrowdDoing.world Next Generation, this title is for 15, 16, and 17 year olds. A parental waiver is required for participation. A slack channel and a google group have been established with oversight by an individual who recently completed her MBA in marketing.
CrowdDoing.world Knowledge management video editing volunteer: we want to identify clips that relate to different sections of knowledge that we need to extract from our recordings. The goal will then be to label and organize this content into sections for orienting other volunteers, labeling clips by date, combining them together. For example, all the data-science sub-sections of meetings on a team could be turned into a longer video extracted from multiple meetings.
CrowdDoing.world is a joint initiative between Reframe It, a social enterprise, and Match4Action Foundation, a US 501c3. CrowdDoing has had more than 1000 volunteers since 2015 collaborating on systemic change research and development through a venture lab approach. Venture labs build multiple solutions at the same time to address compelling problems in the world. Our volunteers are based in twenty countries and have collectively contributed hundreds of thousands of hours of collaboration time. CrowdDoing.world has initiatives that work on public health, anti-poverty, sustainability and education through virtual collaboration.
CrowdDoing.world is Recruiting NextGen Volunteers for Systemic Change Team in the following areas::Graphic design, video/audio production for your organization's podcasts. The average CrowdDoing volunteer contributes six hours per week but we are flexible with any individual volunteer to contribute at their convenience based on their level of interest.
Length of collaboration: We will seek to recruit volunteers who can stay with this for at least 10 weeks. Our preference is for volunteers who have an interest in our efforts and may consider staying longer on a flexible basis.
Match4Action: The M4A Foundation is charged with creating maximum social impact globally towards the resolution of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as defined by the United Nations. M4A has partnered with Reframe It on the CrowdDoing program to address Sustainable Development Goals and beyond through social innovation, the social enterprise sector and systemic change
Match4Action connects those wanting to volunteer their skills with those in need for remote or local project support, advice, collaboration and mentoring.
CrowdDoing aims to leverage micro-leadership, service learning and massively multi-disciplinary collaboration supported with project managers and human resource business partners to collaborate with people whom you can learn from while changing the world virtually together.

Rescue Adam Smith from shareholder capitalism to reclaim Adam Smith for stakeholder capitalism via Implicit Marginalia!
Implicit marginalia is taking a later text that quotes an earlier text and annotating the earlier text. We aim to use this to build an addition of Adam Smith’s classic works Wealth of Nations and Theory on Moral Sentiments based on social impact themes that show up in each to show if or if not Adam Smith was for social entrepreneurship, social impact, social innovation, and impact investing rather than Milton Friedman’s limitless capitalism.
Any time Adam Smith gets quoted, we can identify the part of Adam Smith that quote applies to and connect implicit marginalia to it- the later text that quotes and cites Adam Smith. We will end up with an annotated edition of Adam Smith’s works based only on the impact theme relevant annotations. Identifying all the texts on the web and in books and in scholarly articles that quote and cite Adam Smith can begin with web crawling, data mining and other techniques. CrowdDoing is collaborating on this initiative. CrowdDoing is a joint initaitive of Match4Action Foundation and Reframe It.
