According to Statistics Canada, in spring 2024, nearly half (45%) of Canadians reported that rising prices were greatly affecting their ability to meet day-to-day expenses, 12 percentage points higher than what it was two years earlier (33%). Rising prices have a disproportionate impact on lower-income people in Canada. Rising prices are affecting the ability of Canadians to meet their day-to-day expenses, their concerns with housing affordability, the likelihood that they will obtain food or meals from community organizations, their financial stress, and the relationship between financial stress and quality of life. While food banks are facing an increased number of users, various shelters across cities do need help too with providing meals to its users. Goal: Sewa Canada International has launched its 'Feed the Hungry in Canada' program in a few cities across Canada and aims to do more every month in more cities across Canada. The program involves providing:-

1. Hot meals prepared by our volunteers to the needy.
2. Dry food donations by our volunteers to the needy.

While most of the intended beneficiaries are the underprivileged and needy at shelters or missions in various cities, we will also attempt to address seniors in need or international students who may need help with dry food donations.

So far we have provided this service in Toronto, London, Ottawa, Edmonton and Vancouver and aim to recruit new volunteers in other cities to carry out this service. We partner with other charities to deliver these meals.

A hot meal with fruit, bread, cookies/chips, its packaging and delivery can cost up to $5 per person. Please DONATE generously to help us feed the underprivileged in Canada. You may also direct your donations to a specific city of your choice by indicating the name of the city in the message field while making the donation. All donations are tax deductible in Canada. Tax receipts will be issued automatically.

The Dearborn County Pride Festival is a one-day event that aims to unify our community in celebration of Pride. The Festival was established to provide visibility and empowerment to both youth and adults within the community, with the hope of mitigating some of the disproportionate challenges that the LGBTQ+ community faces daily. Our goal is to decrease rates of bullying, discrimination, suicide, addiction, mental health issues, and self-destructive behaviors — all of which, unfortunately, occur at a significantly higher rate within the LGBTQ+ community. In fact, rural communities such as ours have a substantial number of youth and adults who struggle to embrace their true identities. One of our primary objectives is to establish a consistent presence in Dearborn County, Indiana, extending beyond a single day's event.

So What Else Baltimore has opened a resource center in Southwest Baltimore to help provide community members with clothing, toys, shoes, furniture, food and more! We are looking for committed volunteers to help us sort, clean, organize and put away these items so that we may continue providing for families in need. The 2025 Summit on Cancer Health Disparities is a 3-day meeting held in Seattle annually. The Summit brings together stakeholders from across the spectrum of healthcare delivery, including leading physicians, healthcare executives, healthcare researchers, pharmaceutical industry executives, patient advocates, and policy-makers to share data-driven solutions to health disparities, collaborate and network to improve health equity, and to advocate for policy changes that improve access to cancer care.
Volunteers for this event will have opportunity to meet and network with influencers changing healthcare in the US while supporting the event and participate in various tasks such as staffing the registration desk, setting up the abstract presentation space, assisting the audio-visual needs at breakout sessions, and anything else needed.

The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) is a national non-profit dedicated to improving lives today through ongoing support and direct services to individuals with MS, their families, and their care partners.

We will be hosting our Atlanta Women of Action Luncheon and Fashion Show at the prestigious Cherokee Town Club in Atlanta, GA, on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025. The event provides the perfect opportunity to participate in an inspirational and uplifting event, while improving the lives of those impacted by MS in our community. Proceeds from the event support the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America’s (MSAA) free programs and services for people living with multiple sclerosis and their families.
