Be a part of a movement to launch The Good Hub, a community learning and volunteer space to be located in Raleigh, NC! We're hosting a Pop Up version of The Good Hub to pilot test this vision during Spring 2020. We need YOUR help to make this Pop Up a success!

Help Activate Good set up and breakdown the Good Hub Pop Up space! Some lifting (up to 40 lbs), moving, and decorating will be involved. Wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes.

Opportunity Details

The Ohio Diversity Council is hosting their annual 2020 Toledo Women in Leadership Symposium on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. This bring together a diverse mix of successful women leaders who, through the discussion of topics relevant to today’s issues will educate, inspire and encourage women to reflect on their own goals and status as they strive to move higher within their organizations. This event needs volunteers to help with registration , ushering, and assisting the Event Coordinator.

Opportunity Details

Ariane, our founder can't do all the work by herself and needs the help of volunteers. Without them, it would be far too time-consuming and draining for Ariane to properly take care of the animals.

Volunteers stay at the property for a minimum of one month. In exchange for their work, they get room and board consisting of vegan and organic meals.

Important: Because it is a sanctuary and the animals don't take a day off, volunteers are expected to help out every day. However, you are not working for the whole day.

The work is related to animal care which includes first and foremost, cleaning the stalls and fields so they are poop-free, feeding the animals (twice a day), administering medication (if needed), brushing and petting, giving lots of love and attention to the animals and helping with meals (for the humans!). Additionally, some fences or other structures may need to be fixed.

You will mainly be working outside and may need to occasionally carry some heavy items (hay bales, feed bags, water buckets), Ariane is over 60 years old and can do all of these things so a minimum fitness is required but by no means do you need to be a gym rat to be able to help out.

Love of animals, the outdoors and being motivated are the only prerequisites!

Opportunity Details

In its 8th year, proceeds from this unique event benefit Children's Protection Center (CPC). CPC provides compassionate care to children and their families to overcome the trauma of abuse and is the only organization in Pulaski County positioned to offer a coordinated approach to child abuse investigation, advocacy services and educational programs. One of the most exciting events on water,it consists of a two-day celebration that begins with set up and a kick-off party on June 19, and culminates with a full day of racing. The Friday evening Kick-Off Party includes music, games, team practices and morel The party is from 6-9pm, followed by an amazing illumination extravaganza.

The festivities continue on Saturday, June 20th, as teams compete for the championship title. Folks who have never witnessed dragon boat racing are in for a treat when the drummer at the helm of the boat sets the pace as 20-member teams heave in time with paddles propelling the 46-foot-long dragon boats toward the finish line. It's a lively atmosphere with tailgating, food trucks, children's activities, the cheering of the crowd, and multiple brightly colored dragon-scaled boats neck and neck in fierce pursuit of the finish line.

To make this event successful, we need in excess of 100 volunteers over the course of the weekend.
