CrowdDoing Medicinal Foods Service Learning Planning & Development VolunteerCrowdDoing Medicinal Foods Service Learning Course Planning, Design & Development Volunteer's role is to help us take the research CrowdDoing has done on medicinal foods, and develop online courses that will enable new participants to contribute to research assessing the effectiveness of these foods.
Service learning represents an opportunity for an individual to learn new skills, fields, collaboration habits, and leadership capabilities while contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. While schools and universities have driven the development of the field of service learning historically, service learning in support of social innovation can provide tremendous benefits to learners of all ages.Service learning can help lifelong learners develop the ability to leverage evidence from across disciplines to address important societal challenges. The medicinal foods research at the core of this opportunity will help individuals select foods that can help them manage everyday challenges including stress, anxiety, exhaustion, sleep loss, and other conditions.
Today, an individual who is interested in the medicinal properties foods that could help them is likely to be stymied. For some foods there is a lack of evidence. For other foods there is inconsistent evidence that would lead them to contradictory conclusions. Through collaborative service learning, diverse individuals from around the world can contribute to our collective understanding of the potential of particular foods to help people respond in constructive ways to stress, anxiety, exhaustion, sleep loss, and other conditions.
