The Welcome Home Project Volunteer Program invites community members to participate in building kits and sets that will be included in our signature Welcome Home Project packages. These packages are distributed to homeless individuals and families transitioning into permanent housing.
How To Get Started
1. Gather a group of 10-25 volunteers.
2. Pick a date & time. (please allocate 2 hours for activity)

The Welcome Home Project packages contain essential items that can make a significant difference in the lives of homeless individuals and families as they transition into permanent housing. These items provide comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging. This volunteer program is a crucial component of the Welcome Home Project's efforts to support homeless individuals and families. It leverages community involvement through a heartwarming team building activity, optimizes resources, and ensures that recipients receive the necessary items to start their new lives with dignity and hope.

Volunteers will assist at Gilda's Race for Hope Color Run with setting up the event, assisting participants in the registration process, setting up the route, photographing the event, and day of logistics, and cheering on runners and walkers as they bring hope to individuals that are impacted by any cancer.Available Shifts

- Produce high-quality written content for our website
- Ensure content consistency in terms of style and quality and optimized for search and user experience

- Oversee the production process for YouTube videos, ensuring that all content is original, properly licensed, or falls within fair use guidelines to avoid copyright infringement
- Optimize our YouTube channel for visibility, discoverability, and engagement, while also ensuring compliance with YouTube's community guidelines and copyright policies to maintain a positive reputation and avoid infringement penalties
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, audience demographics, and viewer behavior using YouTube analytics tools to track channel performance and identify potential infringement issues, such as content duplication or unauthorized use of copyrighted material

- Provide engaging lessons on a variety of music genres, including Jazz, Blues, R&B, Country, Folk, and Rock, exploring their historical context, unique characteristics, and contributions to music history
- Provide students with fundamental theory lessons, covering topics such as keys, scales, modes, chords, and time signatures, and explaining how these elements contribute to the uniqueness of each genre
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources, including multimedia presentations, live demonstrations, listening sessions, and hands-on activities, to enhance student learning and engagement.

Literacy Lambton has an existing multi-platform presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google MyBusiness.We are a small registered charity that has served Sarnia-Lambton for over three decades, yet awareness remains a challenge. We have a skeleton team and our impact relies heavily on volunteer engagement. All of our mission-related programs are based on community goodwill via private donations, service club and other grants, and our own fundraising efforts.
