The Anoka Spooktacular Halloween Carnival is held the Saturday before Halloween in Anoka, the Halloween Capital of the World. The date is Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is right before the Anoka Grand Day Parade and the location is on the parade route. The event is held in the Anoka Middle School – Fred Moore Campus, 1518 S 4th Ave. , Anoka, MN 55303. The carnival ends when the parade begins. The purpose and goal of this event is to provide a safe, fun activity for kids to participate in while waiting for the parade. We have approximately 20 games and activities. Some are crazy hair, spin art, sand art, duck pond, sucker wheel, face painting and more. We also have a concession stand that offers hot dogs, our famous walking tacos, chili and beverages. Over 400 kids participate each year, so we need people to help with the games/activities and concessions. We also collect non-perishable food items for the Anoka County Brotherhood (ACBC) Food Shelf. We offer each participant a free game/activity ticket for each item donated (up to five). Any money made on this event is donated back into the community. In the past, we have donated to Hope 4 Youth, Alexandra House, Anoka County Library, Anoka County Christmas Committee, Main Street Stage, Wishes and More, Rum River Art Center, Anoka-Ramsey Athletics, to name a few. This event is so much fun! Please join us in making a kid’s day!
