We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who encourage their colleagues, friends & family and support by raising funds for our initiative of providing Food items (#grocery kits) for a month. For Covid 19 we are focusing on two items:

1. Short term - To provide grocery ration kits to poor families. Each kit cost us Rs. 600/- (USD 8) per family.

We are a very small charity - our charitable purpose is to match volunteers and charity opportunities using a web-based recommender algorithm (FreddyMatch) which we are building from scratch. An amazing Atlassian volunteer has already built the majority of the website back-end and we are looking for a volunteer to help with the front-end development. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Roxane.

Sportsmen’s Friday Volunteer Experience:
Our volunteer experience can be two-fold: The first part of the experience would include The Learning Center (TLC) at Sportsmen's which provides a comprehensive suite of academic and enrichment opportunities for over 200 underserved K-12 students each year. Volunteers will help younger students with reading and homework assistance. The second part of the experience involves our partnership with the Boston Police Department – Volley Against Violence (VAV) - that engages inner city youth in tennis while providing intentional mentoring, life skills training and educational experiences for youth ages 5 - 18. The youth come together from all throughout Boston on Friday evenings to learn and play tennis with the Boston Police Department, State Police, and MBTA Police officers and Sportsmen's coaches. Volunteers will engage with the younger participants in skills building tennis activities. Volunteers DO NOT need to know how to play tennis for this activity, but sneakers are required. Volunteers will have a rewarding and fun filled experience!
This two-fold experience would begin around 2:30/3 PM and run until 8 PM
Sportsmen’s will provide a light dinner for volunteers

Volley Against Violence runs from 6 PM until 8 PM
Location: 950 Blue Hill Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02124
