Opportunity Details

Description: The Development Committee will establish and strengthen relationships with donors, sponsors, partners, and the community as a whole. Members will also be responsible for researching and implementing different strategies to identify additional resources (ex: grant opportunities, donors).


Responsibilities:
- Solicit monetary and nonmonetary support from individuals, foundations, and local businesses.
- Develop and implement a strategy to grow donor database.
- Collaborate with Development Interns to develop a Sponsorship Packet.
- Develop resources and incentives for students upon their completion of Catalyst.
- Set fundraising goals and assess methods to achieve those numbers.
- Research partnership opportunities, or coordinate, social events as a way to meet fundraising and public relations goals.
- Design ways to recognize donors and sponsors for their continued support.

Qualifications:
- Experience in fundraising, event planning, or donor relations management
- Ability to work well in a team
- Passion for volunteerism and youth development
- Committed to bettering the Portland community

Position Description: The Diversity & Inclusion Committee for Equity (DICE) referred to ensures that Passion Impact maintains its focus on welcoming students of color and/or students eligible for free or reduced cost lunch through Portland Public Schools. Students from these backgrounds are most in need of access to educational support & career development resources. The committee operates to accommodate the needs of all students, pushing Passion Impact, on the whole, to become more culturally aware and intentional in its efforts to respectfully include people of all backgrounds.

Requirements:
- Pass a background check through Verified Volunteers
- Meet with Volunteer Coordinator to become oriented with position & organization

Qualifications:
- Interest in equity and social justice
- Confident in cross-cultural communication
- Willingness to learn from others who do not share your perspective
- Recognize and strive to rectify any implicit biases or patterns of exclusion or discrimination noted in the operation of Passion Impact

Cultivating Community
The Sustain Supper provides an opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a farm to table organic dinner and listen to inspiring speeches.
Volunteering at this unique event offers a meaningful experience for volunteers to attend a special evening at the farm and get to know more about our programs.

The August 24th Sustain Supper will be featuring, Jonathan Franzen, novelist, essayist, journalist, translator, and screenwriter, as the Keynote Speaker.
Jonathan Franzen's great loves are literature and birds, and his most recent book, The End of the End of the Earth is a passionate argument for both. Jonathan has been a frequent visitor to the HGP farm to watch birds. Time magazine has called Franzen the "Great American Novelist" and NY Times referred to his "crackling genius."

Food, wine and beverage Servers must attend an orientation, even if you have already done this role previously. Please let Emily know if you can not attend the orientation.

The orientation will be at the Homeless Garden Project Farm.

Hey Neighbor! So excited to inform you that the adoption paperwork for Redmond Road is finalized and Pokemon Go Litter is scheduled!

Join us on the south side of the park that intersects with Redmond Road, how lucky to get such a great area!!

The city provides all the clean up and safety materials! We just need to go over safety from 530-600. As well as add new PoGo Friends!!

I highly encourage bringing your Pokemon Go Plus watch for ease of playing the game.

After we will go to a local restaurant (sponsors welcome) to trade and battle!!
