Share HOPE with thousands of mini-Hope Heroes recently impacted by Hurricane Michael. The Happy Hope Factory is teaming up with United Way-Florida to deliver special Happy Hope Bags to children in communities affected by the recent storm. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble 24 Happy Hope Bags, and a prepaid UPS label will be included to ship completed boxes directly to the United Way’s Distribution Center. All boxes must be completed by November 15th. We can all be Hope Heroes, thank you for packaging happiness and smiles for children in need of a boost of hope!

Opportunity Details

Hosted at Blossom Athletic Center this ticketed event has seen a rise in attendance each year since its inception in 2007. In 2018, MMX had over 2,300 attendees, and in 2019 we plan to increase attendance and engage our audience more as we base our event model on that of a professional sporting event and utilize local partners. As a volunteer, not only will you be provided a fantastic experience, but you will get to see Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps first performance of the season! Volunteers are integral to our organization as a whole. We typically bring on twice as many volunteers as we have staff members. For our MMX, we need help with tickets, water and crowd management.

Kidney Walk Special Event Volunteer - Ontario Branch

Description: The Kidney Foundation of Canada requires Special Event volunteers to support the Ontario Kidney Walks in the following areas:
• Registration
• Route Marshaling/Cheer Crowd
• Set Up/Take Down
• Food and Beverage Stations
• Kids Activities
• Photography

Groups Served: Kidney patients, their families, renal practitioners and doctors

Skills Required: Friendly, enthusiastic and enjoys working with others. Must be able to work as part of a team. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Previous volunteer experience at a special event is an asset

Task Requirements: Carrying and lifting; Dexterity and agility; Walking and/or standing; Communication; Reading and Writing

Suitable for: Corporate Teams; Groups of volunteers

Training: Information with meeting spot and staff lead will be provided to all volunteers in advance of event day. Staff member on-site provides additional orientation and training during the event.

Accessibility: Has accessible parking; Has accessible washrooms

Opportunity Details

To provide homeless children a positive back to school experience by giving them a backpack filled with essential items needed for a successful return to school. We receive the name and underwear size, clothing, and shoe size of every homeless child and these items are personalized for each child and placed in the bags. Toiletries, school supplies and books are also included. Only NEW ITEMS are given to the children.
