Kohl's Cares volunteers are needed for a pillowcase sewing party! We'll be sewing and ironing pillowcases to donate to children in local hospitals. The mission of the charity, Ryan's Case for Smiles, is to help kids feel better to heal better. The whimsical pillowcases we make brighten the rooms of children in local hospitals suffering from life-altering illnesses.

No experience necessary! I'll supply fabric, machines and ironing boards. I'll teach you to sew or you can help by cutting, pinning or ironing pillowcases. Many hands make light work! Thanks in advance for your help!

Opportunity Details

The is that largest fundraiser of the year for Northland Early Education Center. It is a night of food, drink, music, games and giving. All proceeds go to support early education and therapy services for hundreds of children with special needs in the Kansas City, MO area.

Volunteer Needs/Duties:

Parking Attendants - Direct attendees to available parking spots and to shuttle service drop off and pick up.

Welcome Party - Assist attendees with on-site registration, distribute welcome bags to guests and help direct guests to assigned seats.

Raffle Ticket/Paper Airplane Contest Attendant - Sell raffle tickets (raffle tickets will be paper airplanes!) and answer any questions guest have regarding the raffle/paper airplane contest.

Caterer Attendants - Assist caterer maintain food stations and bus tables as needed.

Clean Up and Tear Down - Just like it sounds! Help clean up and get everything put away at the end of the night.

All volunteers will be fed!

Your team will be crafting, creating and assembling these super fun themed packages guaranteed to deliver a boost of hope and hours of activity for these special children during their hospital stay. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble the Hope Bags. A prepaid UPS label is also included to take your donation to your local facility. If your team cannot complete the box within two weeks of your scheduled event please contact your hope box coordinator as children are awaiting your Hope Box donation. We can all be Hope Heroes, thank you for packaging happiness and smiles for a child in your local hospital.

The American Diabetes Association Chicagoland team is hosting the Tour de Cure Chicagoland 2019 in RiverEdge Park, Aurora, IL on Sunday, June 2, 2019. Volunteers will greet riders and walkers, direct them to parking, registration tables, breakfast area, rest stop helpers, etc.

Opportunity Details

Please join us in sewing colorful pillowcases for children ages 0-21 who are in the hospital with a serious illness. You do NOT need to know how to sew: there are plenty of other tasks to contribute.
