Your mission, if you decide to accept, is to select team award recipients through interaction with teams and contributing to the deliberation process. Interview and observe teams in the Judging rooms, Pit, and on the playing field. Position serves as a role model for the team members. Participate in writing short awards scripts extolling merits of winning teams and assists with award presentations to the teams. *Uphold and model the FIRST Core Values.The FIRST LEGO League Project changes with the yearly Challenge theme and is the opportunity for the teams to explore the topic in depth and allows them to have a firsthand opportunity in proposing a solution to a problem they selected.
The Project assignment given to the teams for the INTO ORBIT season is to identify a physical or social problem faced by humans during long duration space exploration within our Sun’s solar system and propose a solution.
For the INTO ORBIT Challenge, a physical problem is one that impacts the immediate health or safety of a space explorer, such as the need for air, water, food or exercise. A social problem is one that could affect the long-term ability of a human to be productive in space, like isolation and boredom. “Long duration” space exploration means spending a year or more in outer space.

This volunteer position assists SMASH members with access to medical and other health-related services. Services include: scheduling, qualifying and enrolling eligible musicians into SMASH membership; updating members with understanding and qualification for new services as they become available; providing information on SMASH programs; supporting efficacy for members in appointment-making for medical services; providing referrals to other local resources that support maintaining a healthy lifestyle; providing input on member service development and coordinating the operational processes needed to support this work; and supporting and promoting SMASH services and activities.

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois is excited to host Desserts First on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Par-A-Dice Hotel.We've challenged some of the area's best chefs to create desserts inspired by Girl Scout Cookies. The best part? We promise not to tell anyone if you eat Dessert First!
This fun-filled fundraiser will also include dinner stations, silent auction, prize wall, live entertainment, and a culinary competition with local chefs, creating desserts inspired by Girl Scout cookies.
Funds raised through the event will support local Girl Scout programs that teach essential life skills in STEM, financial literacy, civic engagement/advocacy, education, health/wellness, and the arts. With over 4,000 Girl Scouts in Peoria alone, your generous financial support is essential in helping us provide and expand these programs that cultivate girls’ inherent leadership potential, confidence, and character to shape the future.

Calling all hoopers; calling all ballers! The Foundation Fighting Blindness is looking for volunteers to work the annual Hoops for Sight fundraiser in support of the Baltimore VisionWalk. Volunteers will be tasked with setting up and breaking down equipment, registering participants, reporting to the event organizers, and other easy assignments.
