Opportunity Details

Volunteers are the key to the success of the Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS and Walk. Without them, this event would not be possible. From event planning, set-up, helping at registration, guiding cyclists at intersections, serving food and drinks, cheering on participants, coordinating the kids zone, to post-event breakdown, The ALS Association depends on people donating their time and talents in order to produce successful events that raise awareness and fund the mission. This one-day fundraising event is SUPER fun with a post event festival with BBQ, wine, beer, a live band, and more! Join us and help out!

Share HOPE with thousands of mini-Hope Heroes recently impacted by Hurricane Florence! The Happy Hope Factory is teaming up with United Way-North Carolina to deliver special Happy Hope Bags to children in the coastal Carolina communities affected by the recent storm. Teams are needed over the next four weeks to assemble, pack and ship up to 5,000 Happy Hope Bags. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble 24 Happy Hope Bags, and a prepaid UPS label will be included to ship completed boxes directly to the United Way’s distribution center. All boxes must be completed by October 19th. We can all be Hope Heroes, thank you for packaging happiness and smiles for children in need of a boost of hope!

Opportunity Details

We are looking for someone with an accounting or bookkeeping financial background (preferably a CPA but not required), who is familiar with Quickbooks and with charitable reporting in Canada, and who lives in Barrie, Ontario (or is able to travel to Barrie on a monthly basis) to serve as a volunteer Treasurer on our Board of Directors. The commitment would be between 2-3 hours per month and will include duties such as: meeting with our Administrator in Barrie for monthly cheque signings and signing off on expenses, submission of payroll through ADP (bi-weekly), updating cash flow, reviewing bank statements, reconciling quarterly reports, providing reports to the Board, attending Board Meetings (5 per year, can call in via teleconference), processing HST return and charitable return (annually). Please note as items come up or requests for cash flow updates are given, extra hours may be needed.
