Share HOPE with thousands of mini-Hope Heroes recently impacted by Hurricane Michael! Teams are needed over the next four weeks to assemble, pack and ship up to 5,000 Happy Hope Bags. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble 25 Happy Hope Bags, and a prepaid UPS label will be included to ship completed boxes. All boxes must be completed by November 15th. We can all be Hope Heroes, thank you for packaging happiness and smiles for children in need of a boost of hope!

Imagine if you were a senior citizen in a nursing home and NO friends or relatives ever came to visit you…not even for holidays. Neighbor Love wants to brighten the day of a WHOLE BUNCH of valuable seniors THIS Christmas. Adopt-a-Senior Christmas is a GREAT way to let a valuable senior know that someone still loves them.

We will be assembling gift bags and delivering them to the residents during a party where we will be serving them food and drink.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that you would please REGISTER to let us know if you will be joining us and please help us spread the word to everyone you know.

Volunteers are limited to 30 adults and any amount of children, with chaperones.

Minimum age to volunteer is 7, unless baby. All children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/chaperone. All volunteers under 18 must have registration paperwork completed by their parents in advance.

YWCA JUMP Scarborough is seeking volunteers to lead an interview skills workshop for newcomer women who are interested in working in the financial sector.

Responsibilities: Volunteers will share their own experience finding work, discuss current opportunities within the financial sector, and offer valuable interview tips and tricks. Volunteers will review the standard types of questions that participants may be asked during an interview and help participants construct effective responses using appropriate language.

Program Details: JUMP Scarborough is an exciting program for newcomer women and girls over the age of 13, who are permanent residents, convention refugees or live-in caregivers with temporary work permits. The program helps women and girls explore career options, build skills, search for jobs, and integrate into Canadian society.

Benefits of Volunteering: This event will provide volunteers with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of newcomer women who are very interested in pursuing a career within the financial sector.
