The members of MOMS Club® of Valparaiso, IN are well under way planning this year’s annual Easter Egg Hunt - an event children from across the county enjoy each year. In recent years the Egg Hunt has been enjoyed by over thousands of area kids and their families. We are asking for your support as we hold Valparaiso’s 24th year of The Egg Hunt. The hunt is free and open to all children ages 0-12. With over 20,000 eggs to fill with candy and goodies as well as raffle items to collect we are starting fundraising now.

Profits from this event will be donated to The Caring Place and Hilltop Food Pantry. The Caring Place provides shelter for victims of violence and their children. Through education and awareness, they empower all members of the community to live in peace. Hilltop’s mission is to meet the needs of today’s neighborhood. Hilltop maintains a food pantry as well as a mobile pantry to serve Valparaiso neighborhoods needing food assistance. Its new Hilltop Community Garden teaches children about growing food, and supplies the pantry and gardeners with fresh produce. Its afterschool program offers neighborhood children an evening meal, tutoring, and social time in a safe location.

Pratibha Poshak (https://www.pratibhaposhak.in/) stands as a transformative talent search and nurture initiative under the umbrella of the Rajalakshmi Children Foundation. Our mission is to unearth and uplift exceptionally gifted young individuals residing in severely underprivileged and remote rural areas, as well as economically disadvantaged urban regions across India. By seamlessly connecting them with creative educators and compassionate mentors globally, we strive to amplify their latent potential. Pratibha Poshak specifically targets 14-16-year-olds attending state-government schools within families facing significant financial constraints.

Presently, our endeavors are buoyed by a grant from Emergent Ventures and the support of a few philanthropic individuals. To continue our impactful work, we are in the process of mobilizing funds to initiate a new cohort of students this year. However, for the sustained success of this project, we recognize the imperative of building a robust donor base comprising both individuals and corporations. In pursuit of this goal, we are actively seeking dedicated volunteers who can contribute their time and expertise. Tasks include drafting compelling grant applications, pursuing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding opportunities, and executing outreach campaigns to engage a wider audience of potential donors. Your support in these endeavors will play a pivotal role in shaping the future success of Pratibha Poshak

At Fostering Love Rescues animal sanctuary, we cultivate and foster connections with humankind and animals. While inspiring and uplifting others through compassionate acts in the Douglas County area for the last four years, we’ve successfully promoted an animal-friendly approach to life and work that has inspired a more compassionate lifestyle through exposure. The relationships that have been established with our blended family of displaced horses, goats, mini donkey, dogs, and cats through the pandemic, and the financial hardship of the community since have been astonishing, rewarding, and most of all, life-changing for the animals, and people that love them.

On April 6, 2024, we will be joining other animal shelters throughout the country for the Shelter Slumber Pawty. During this event, animal lovers from across the country will spend 24 hours at shelters with the animals while raising funds and awareness for our organizations.

As the first sanctuary to be involved, we hope this event will give insight into how our animals live, how much time and care goes on behind the scenes, the need and value for
volunteers, and why donations are such a crucial part of the continued care for our animals.

We aim to raise $1,000 per animal resident. Making an overall goal of $16,000 to cover just one-third of a year of overhead costs for equine medication for our elders, food, and supplies so that we can focus on enrichment and therapy in 2025.
