YWCA JUMP Scarborough is seeking volunteers to lead a workshop on networking, resume writing, and job searching within the financial sector.

Responsibilities: Volunteers will share their own experience finding work, discuss current opportunities within the financial sector, offer tips and advice on effective networking, and review and provide feedback on the participants’ resumes.

Program Details: JUMP Scarborough is an exciting program for newcomer women and girls over the age of 13, who are permanent residents, convention refugees or live-in caregivers with temporary work permits. The program helps women and girls explore career options, build skills, search for jobs, and integrate into Canadian society.

Benefits of Volunteering: This event will provide volunteers with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of newcomer women who are very interested in pursuing a career within the financial sector.

The Spring Development Initiative (TSDI) is an international organization committed to empowering young leaders working towards increased citizen participation in governance, and improved health, economic and educational attainment in their communities. We provide training and development, mentoring and collaboration, and access to scholarships and investments.

The purpose of our associate board is to build the next generation of leaders for TSDI. Their mission is to drive resources and raise awareness to help us achieve our overall programmatic mission. The role of an Associate Board member carries with it the responsibility to serve as a committed supporter and thoughtful advocate for Spring Development Initiative.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The specific responsibilities that members will take on are shown below.

Members are required to make a financial commitment to the associate board, achieved through a combination of in-kind gifts, friendraising, ticket sales to fundraising events and their own contributions.
Members will together on a regular and scheduled basis to ensure they are actively engaged, contributing, and up-to-date with happenings and initiatives for the organization.
Members will work on projects or events throughout the year to help spread awareness and drive resources for the organization.
Qualifications:

– College graduate and young professional working in the Seattle area

– Strong understanding of how nonprofits work and previous connections desired

– Excellent written and oral communication with the ability to learn quickly

If your team cannot complete the box within two weeks of your scheduled event please contact your hope box coordinator as children are awaiting your Hope Box donation. Join Memphis Habitat and Republic Services to help revitalize part of the Castalia Heights neighborhood! We’ll help landscape yards, clean up debris, prune back bushes and trees to help make the community cleaner and safer for our neighbors! Afterward, we’ll have a party with our neighbors, other community organizations, music, games, info tables and more!
