Opportunity Details

Starting May 29-August 2 we will be hosting our summer lunch program at two different locations in Newnan. We will serve over 150 lunches per day to children who otherwise may not have access to a meal since they are not in school. We are in need of volunteers to help prep lunches, serve lunches and to play games with the children.

Help provide home bound seniors in the community a warm meal and a warm smile. Meals On Wheels’ success depends on our volunteer network of those who drive a route and deliver hundreds of meals daily to homebound seniors in Jefferson County specifically zip codes 40258, 40272, and 40177. Southwest Community Ministries values providing services in manner that maintains the individuals their personal dignity, fosters a spirit of community, encourages independence, and recognizes interdependence. By volunteering 2-3 hours of your time, you fulfill a basic need for food and make a difference in someone’s life.

5,000 rubber ducks will race down the lazy river at Zoombezi Bay! Walkers will enjoy the beautiful Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. Prizes awarded for the first ducks to cross the finish line and top fundraising teams! Proceeds help individuals with developmental disabilities succeed by providing transportation services to and from programs and jobs. With continued growth, The Alpha Group needs additional vehicles to provide a service that is in high demand. Fund raising teams are needed to help sell duck packages, create friendly competition and participate in the event.
