What You Can Contribute
This position is flexible, allowing volunteers to use their strengths in areas such as:
• Creative Arts: Teaching drawing, painting, music, dance, or drama to help children express themselves and develop their creativity.
• Sports and Recreation: Coaching soccer, basketball, or other games to promote physical health, teamwork, and discipline.
• Vocational Skills: Sharing practical knowledge in tailoring, carpentry, agriculture, computer literacy, or other trades that empower families economically.
• Health and Hygiene: Conducting sessions on proper sanitation, nutrition, and first aid to promote healthier living.
• Mentorship and Life Skills: Guiding children and young people on goal-setting, communication, leadership, and decision-making.
We encourage you to bring any additional skills that can enhance the wellbeing of our community.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with Daydream Ministries’ staff to identify community needs and align your skills with our programs.
• Plan and implement activities or training sessions based on your area of expertise.
• Engage with children and community members, fostering an environment of trust, learning, and inclusivity.
• Collaborate with other volunteers to maximize impact and sustainability of the programs.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve future initiatives.
Eligibility
• Open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
• No formal qualifications required—just a passion for helping others and the ability to commit your time and skills.
• Prior experience in volunteering, teaching, or community engagement is welcome but not mandatory.

We're looking for volunteers to assist with our fundraising luncheon. We have several roles that need to be filled within a two day period. The luncheon takes place on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 from 12-3pm. We will also need help the day before (Fri. Feb. 21st) for pre-event prep.The luncheon is our annual fundraiser. The funds raised help us provide free blood pressure monitors to those in need and it helps us raise awareness about heart disease, the number one killer of men and women globally.
On Friday 2/21/25 we're looking for volunteers to help us w/ event set-up. We will assemble gifts and favors and prep the ballroom for the event. This will require lifting and standing.
On Saturday 2/22/25 we need volunteers to help with event registration, our raffle, set-up and clean-up. This will require lifting and standing.

Who We Are & What We Do:Seeds of Literacy is a unique, award-winning* one-to-one tutoring program for GED Prep and adult education. Tutors work with Seeds of Literacy students to help break a root cause of poverty: illiteracy. For 27 years we’ve served the Cleveland, Ohio, public with FREE GED Preparation and Adult Basic Education tutoring services. During the pandemic, we launched a Virtual Classroom serving adult learners. Once logged on to our Zoom room, students and tutors are matched by staff and sent to breakout zoom rooms to work as pairs. Staff is always available to join or provide assistance if needed.
Requirements:
Tutors do NOT need to be career educators. We have realtors, beauticians, college students, retirees, lawyers, marketing people, and yeah, some teachers. We provide a comprehensive tutor training, ongoing professional development, and all of the study materials. Each student works on his or her own speed with a tutor.
The schedule is flexible. Tutor as often as you want, as frequently as your schedule allows. Even if it is a different time or days each week. Students need tutors Monday through Thursday, Eastern Time: 9am-11am, 1pm-3pm, 6pm-8pm.
The commitment is minimal. Just one tutoring session is 2 hours. That’s just 1% of all the time you have in a week.
