Hospitality House serves adult women who are homeless and do not have a safety net or connections to lean on when they are facing this crisis in their life. The culture of the house is one of warmth and growth, allowing the clients to feel safe as they work towards their goals and securing stable housing.

Hospitality House’s Spring Fling Dinner Auction raises over $50,000, which is a large part of our annual budget, allowing us to provide housing and case management to 80 homeless women each year. Event Volunteers are crucial to making this event a success!

Event Volunteers will ensure that registration, auction data input & check-out runs smoothly! We will train volunteers on the auction software & all of the tasks that will be asked of them throughout the evening, including: checking in event attendees, inputting donations into the software, helping the auctioneer spot donors during the live auction segment, delivering auction items to winners at their tables, and closing out donor’s accounts at the end of the night.

This event will require 7 volunteer hours, 1-2 of which will be designated for a pre-event training a week before the event (remote or in-person options). We will ask volunteers to be at the event on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 5:00pm – 10:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi Unity Hall, 15216 21st Avenue SW, Burien, WA 98166. You will be asked to find your own transportation, be able to work the entire time, provide their own computer to work on (using an internet browser), and dress in business casual attire. You will be provided dinner.

Please reach out to Jane at jane.lindley.02@gmail.com if you have any questions!

Ariane, our founder can't do all the work by herself and needs the help of volunteers. Without them, it would be far too time-consuming and draining for Ariane to properly take care of the animals.

Volunteers stay at the property for a minimum of one month. In exchange for their work, they get room and board consisting of vegan and organic meals.

Important: Because it is a sanctuary and the animals don't take a day off, volunteers are expected to help out every day. However, you are not working for the whole day.

The work is related to animal care which includes first and foremost, cleaning the stalls and fields so they are poop-free, feeding the animals (twice a day), administering medication (if needed), brushing and petting, giving lots of love and attention to the animals and helping with meals (for the humans!). Additionally, some fences or other structures may need to be fixed.

You will mainly be working outside and may need to occasionally carry some heavy items (hay bales, feed bags, water buckets), Ariane is over 60 years old and can do all of these things so a minimum fitness is required but by no means do you need to be a gym rat to be able to help out.

Love of animals, the outdoors and being motivated are the only prerequisites!
