Opportunity Details

Calm Waters provides year round grief and divorce support groups at no cost. All groups are lead by volunteers in the community. Support Group Leaders are required to complete training that is approximately 16 hours over a 3-4 day period. This volunteer opportunity provides a secure, long-term volunteer commitment where volunteers work directly with our families. Children range from 3 to 18 years of age and are broken into age appropriate groups. Adults are in a separate group and each night focuses on a different topic of their grief journey. On any given support group night, we utilize 15-20 volunteers. Volunteers stay with the same group of children or adults the entire duration of the group. Grief group is held on Monday evenings while Divorce Group is held on Thursday evenings.

Opportunity Details

Calm Waters is hosting our annual Under the Big Top Fundraiser. This exciting event provides guests an opportunity to play games, watch incredible circus acts and donate to an incredible cause providing free grief support to children and families in our community. Volunteers will help with transporting event items to and from Calm Waters to the event venue, set up at the venue, assist with the event (registration, selling tickets and auction) and help with tear down and transporting items back to Calm Waters.

Give for Good is a huge event to create awareness and funds for nonprofits such as Rolling Hills Ministries! Not only will you be serving others, but your organization will also receive great exposure by volunteering for Give for Good as organizations will be doing so across North Louisiana the same day!
How You Will Be Serving: Each volunteer has the opportunity of sorting, tagging, pricing clothes and household items in a comfortable and friendly environment. Be part of the family and its ministries of Compassion, Thrift Store, Disaster Relief and Recreational Ministry. We love volunteers!

Your team can help us reach 500 additional children in Massachusetts this year! Hope with a Heart for Valentine's Day will be located at The Atrium at 100 Technology Square, Cambridge, MA.
