CASA of Tarrant County and its court-appointed volunteers advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected childrenEach year, thousands of children in Tarrant County are confirmed victims of child abuse and neglect. These children have experienced terrible trauma, and their lives are turned upside down. Child Protective Services takes legal responsibility for them, and may place them in a foster home or other facility. Due to too few foster homes, siblings are often split up into different places. Children are rarely able to stay in their own schools, day cares, or communities. Everything they have known is gone. Through no fault of their own, these abused children have become a part of an overburdened child welfare system. They deserve a voice in the courtroom. They need a CASA volunteer!
From helping siblings find permanent placement together, to finding a child a stable home with a relative, to uncovering information that helps reunite a loving family, volunteer advocates make incredible differences in the lives of abused and neglected children.
- You’ll talk with the child and their family members, teachers and others to find out where the child will be happiest and safest: with the parent(s), a relative or a loving foster family.
- You’ll speak for the child in court, making your fact-based recommendation for placement to the judge.
- You’ll act as the one constant in the child’s life as they experience changes in foster placements, schools and caseworkers.

We have a number of sites around West London where we organise tree planting days.In 2019 we successfully delivered a tree planting effort in Tower Hamlets where we planted 10 trees in conjunction with Tower Hamlets Council, The Mayor of London and the Faiths Forum for London.
We are looking to work with businesses and the community to deliver a series of corporate volunteering events to plant trees in the West London area to benefit the natural environment.
In 2020 we successfully planted 10 trees in Hounslow Crane Park for the community and environment.
In 2021 we planted 10 trees in conjunction with Lampton Greenspace 360 in Hanworth Park, this project was coordinated with Heathrow Airport Ltd and involved a collaborative venture with their employees encouraging volunteering in the community and environmental awareness.
Our goal is to help those who are vulnerable, as well as create a better understanding of the importance of sustainability and recyling/ reusing the resources available to us.
These sites have been identified as being less accessible to the community and initiatives that improve this area as greener spaces have been encouraged by the local councils we work with. It is directly from their support and direction that these sites have been selected in consultation with the community.
We will work together with the local councils across London and volunteers to locate the best places for the trees and then invite people to participate on
arranged days to join together and plant the trees as a community effort.
We will upskill those attending by providing training in BS standard tree planting
and gardening, offering an access point to employability.
Tools and PPE will be provided, weather and digging appropriate clothing and footwear is essential.
Public liability insurance is in place for this activity.
