AAHR is in it's 10th year. The 7th grade class invites veterans from all over to come for a special breakfast and assembly at Deerlake Middle School to honor them and thank them for their service. After the breakfast and assembly, the kids participate in a patriotic day of games and assemble care packages with donated items for active duty military.

The Happy Hope Factory is teaming up with United Way-North Carolina to deliver special Happy Hope Bags to children in the coastal Carolina communities affected by the recent storm. Teams are needed over the next four weeks to assemble, pack and ship up to 5,000 Happy Hope Bags. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble 24 Happy Hope Bags, and a prepaid UPS label will be included to ship completed boxes directly to the United Way’s distribution center. All boxes must be completed by October 19th. We can all be Hope Heroes, thank you for packaging happiness and smiles for children in need of a boost of hope!

Share a smile with someone special! Join the Happy Hope Factory packaging "Happy Hope Bags" for hospitalized children in your community. Your team will be crafting, creating and assembling these super fun themed packages guaranteed to deliver a boost of hope and hours of activity for these special children during their hospital stay. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble the Hope Bags. A prepaid UPS label is also included to take your donation to your local facility. If your team cannot complete the box within two weeks of your scheduled event please contact your hope box coordinator as children are awaiting your Hope Box donation. We can all be Hope Heroes, thank you for packaging happiness and smiles for a child in your local hospital.

Opportunity Details

The Histio Heroes 5K is a family friendly run/walk in downtown Batavia, IL. The 5K is run on a USATF certified course along the beautiful Fox River Trail. The Little Heroes Hop, a non-competitive fun run for children 9 and under, follows the 5K. All registration fees and donations will directly benefit the Histiocytosis Association. The Histiocytosis Association is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the unique needs of patients and families dealing with the effects of histiocytic disorders while leading the search for a cure. Histiocytic disorders are considered “orphan diseases”. An orphan disease is one that affects fewer than 1 in 200,000 individuals in the United States. Subsequently, these disorders do not receive a high priority for government-funded research. The Association relies on contributions from corporations, foundations, and individual donors to fund critical research, build awareness and conduct community outreach initiatives.
