Chicagoland Animal Rescue, NFP is a small, all-volunteer cat rescue organization based out of the Downers Grove PetSmart at Butterfield & Finley Rd.

Join us for an on-your-own-time, fun virtual opportunity! Perfect for students who need service hours, too!

If you are a crafty person, we can always use your skills to make carrier pads, cat/dog beds, toys for the cats in our rescue (and to send home with them when they are adopted!), crafts for our fundraising sales, enrichment items for the cats in our care, or maybe you have a great talent we haven’t thought of using yet!

In addition, any funds earned from sales of donated items will be used to care for our existing cats and pay our vet bill, and this allows us to continue rescuing felines in need. If you have any experience with fundraising, or would like to help us generate ideas, please contact us - we'll be glad to have your input! Please visit our website, or ask any of our volunteers or adoption counselors if you have questions.

Donations of various kinds are always accepted, including: food for foster cats, toys (no hazardous/swallow-possible parts please), crates, carriers (hard sided and/or top loaders preferred), etc. We are in need of cleaning supplies as well (including items like: paper towels, dish soap/cleaners, bleach, sponges, various cleaning supplies, etc.). Contact us for a full list of items we can accept!

We use art to "love on" people.

For Love & Art stimulates art appreciation while empowering caregivers (including volunteers) to love people in creative and transformative ways. People who want to share art and what art provides - mind, body and soul - for the sick and infirm are invited to join us as we share museum masterpieces with senior communities and eligible healthcare venues.

We partner with the community outreach programs of nearly two dozen great museums - including The Met, AIC, NGA, DMA, KAM, and so many others and "visit" the museum and showcase the masterpieces on big screen TVs at senior centers and other venues.

Volunteers don't have to know about the history or style or study of art; volunteers do, however, have to be able to engage people to share their experience while viewing the artwork. What do they think of this picture? How does it make them feel? What else do they want to say? Good conversation skills - especially generosity in listening - are valued. Let people tell you a thing or two about the artwork and what it means to them.

Fear, loneliness and boredom transform into beauty, joy and magic of life! Bringing the Art Experience to people is uniquely fulfilling as a volunteer. Indeed, "Courting the Art Experience" in this manner enriches people's souls...starting with our own!
