Program Overview Amrita-Seattle’s Healthy Hot Meal Program partners with ROOTS Shelter and Teen Feed to support at-risk, unsheltered youth and young adults in meeting their basic needs while building strong, supportive connections to help them transition off the streets. IT'S MORE THAN A MEAL:
Amrita-Seattle’s Healthy Hot Meal Program provides a hot, nutritious meal at University District meal sites for TEEN FEED and ROOTS. While enjoying these meals, young people connect with trained advocates and support staff from our partner organizations, gaining access to critical resources and services.
Since COVID-19, Amrita-Seattle has served over 1,500 unsheltered youth and young adults, earning the COVID Hero Award in recognition of our efforts. We’re grateful to continue serving our community in this time of great need.
How You Can Help
Join us in our spirit of “live to serve” as a volunteer for our meal program! As part of our dedicated meal team, you’ll participate in every step of the process for preparing a meal for approximately 70 people. Volunteers are involved in:
Fundraising for meal sponsorship
Crafting the menu
Grocery shopping and food preparation
Cooking, serving, and post-meal cleanup
This unique, hands-on volunteer experience allows you to make a direct and meaningful impact in the lives of young people facing difficult challenges. Are you a leader looking to give back in a meaningful way? Your leadership on our Walk to End Alzheimer’s Planning Committee will help support the more than 60,000 people that are living with the disease here in SAN DIEGO and their 150,000 caregivers.
You may be the perfect fit for one of our leadership committee roles: Event Co-chair, Corporate Outreach & Team Recruitment Chair, or Sponsorship Chair. These volunteer positions are focused on preparing for our 2021 Walk to help increase awareness of Alzheimer's disease and raise funds to support research efforts. Committee members are asked to attend monthly meetings and network for the Alzheimer’s Association throughout our community.

We are seeking additional graphic designers to help in the marketing and go-to-market of this application and CrowdDoing.world recruitment goals aligned to that.

Role Summary:
Seeking an innovative and dedicated graphic designer to join our growing virtual volunteer team. The individual in this role would be responsible for taking conceptual design ideas and creating visual representations of them, both electronically and in print.
Essential Tasks:
Sit in on conceptual design meetings and offer educated opinions.
Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces.
Advise on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects.
Select colors, font, images, and layout.
Create visualizations (either by hand or via a software program) which convey accurate messaging and undertones as dictated by the project.
Develop product illustrations, logos, website graphics, etc. as needed.
Present designs to stakeholders and applicable teams.
Implement feedback and changes when appropriate.
QA designs for errors.
Pass final design to development or publishing teams for release.
Qualifications required:
A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, design, or art preferred (extensive experience in the field may also be acceptable).
Experience with Quark Xpress, InDesign, and Photo Shop a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
Exceptional creativity and innovation.
Experience with both print and electronic media.
Proficient in design and photo-editing software.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Time management and organizational skills; able to meet deadlines.
The ability and desire to stay up-to-date with commercial design/graphics trends and implement these in daily work.
