CrowdDoing Medicinal Foods Service Learning Curriculum Assistant Development Volunteers' role is to help our Service Learning Leadership Team to take the research CrowdDoing has done on medicinal foods, and develop online courses that will enable new participants to contribute to research assessing the effectiveness of these foods.

Service learning represents an opportunity for an individual to learn new skills, fields, collaboration habits, and leadership capabilities while contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. While schools and universities have driven the development of the field of service learning historically, service learning in support of social innovation can provide tremendous benefits to learners of all ages.Service learning can help lifelong learners develop the ability to leverage evidence from across disciplines to address important societal challenges. The medicinal foods research at the core of this opportunity will help individuals select foods that can help them manage everyday challenges including stress, anxiety, exhaustion, sleep loss, and other conditions.

Today, an individual who is interested in the medicinal properties foods that could help them is likely to be stymied. For some foods there is a lack of evidence. For other foods there is inconsistent evidence that would lead them to contradictory conclusions. Through collaborative service learning, diverse individuals from around the world can contribute to our collective understanding of the potential of particular foods to help people respond in constructive ways to stress, anxiety, exhaustion, sleep loss, and other conditions.

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® is full of flowers, each carried by someone committed to ending this disease. Because like flowers, our participants don't stop when something's in their way. They keep raising funds and awareness for a breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

We're moving forward with plans to host the Walk to End Alzheimer's in person this fall. We are planning every Walk with the health and safety of our constituents, staff and volunteers as our top priorities. All events will implement safety protocols including physical distancing, masks (where required), contactless registration, hand sanitizing stations and more. We will continue to closely monitor Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), state and local guidelines to ensure Walk events adhere to recommendations and are safe for attendees.
