Opportunity Details

Each spring, the Silvercrest Elementary PTA has an opportunity to raise funds that can make a lasting impact on our school by hosting the Stallion Stampede Fun Run. Funds from the state and district provide the necessities for schools, but do not fund the
“extras” such as additional reading materials, beautification, etc. Each year the teachers and staff of Silvercrest Elementary vote on what items are needed for the school or classrooms. The PTA’s Year End Gift to Silvercrest has helped fund interactive whiteboards and slates, an outdoor learning center, guided reading materials, a gazebo, grounds beautification, an iPad cart, a laptop cart, a running track, and security cameras for each of the school’s entrances.

Opportunity Details

Go Big Give is an annual day of giving for Howard, Merrick, Hall and Hamilton Counties in Nebraska. Cairo Community Foundation holds a Go Big Give Prom. This year community couples have been nominated to raise awareness of Go Big Give Day. Prom candidates who receive the most donations for their participation are crowned Go Big Give Prom Kin and Queen. Throughout Prom evening we offer donation opportunities, there is a band and refreshments. This years prom theme is fifties. Prom attendants are usually in costume. We are seeking volunteers to take tickets, assist with bussing tables and assisting with forms. This is a fun night that volunteers will get a kick out of while helping the Foundation raise funds for community programs.

Opportunity Details

Join us Saturday, April 7th from 8 AM to Noon for a Desert Cleanup between Superior and Picketpost Mountain on the Tonto National Forest - Globe Ranger District.

PLEASE NOTE: due to road conditions and the distance between sites, we recommend volunteers only come in high clearance vehicles. We are going to move from site to site as a big group to ensure we get all of the trash sites so you will need a high clearance vehicle that can get you from site to site.

This is the perfect opportunity for OHV and 4X4 Clubs to come out and join us for the morning!

Sign-in is from 7:30 AM to 8 AM. Safety briefing at 8 AM sharp. We will leave the meet-up site as a group immediately following the safety briefing. If you arrive late, you will not be able to participate.

We will also have a front-end loader to assist us.

Opportunity Details

Join us for our first weekday cleanup on Monday, April 2nd, 2018 at Phon D Sutton Recreation Area. This area typically sees a lot of use over the Easter holiday weekend and sadly, a lot of trash is left behind. The cleanup is from 8 AM to Noon.

We are looking for volunteers on foot to hike along the riverbanks exploring the area and picking up scattered trash when you see it. Bring gloves, wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, and closed-toe shoes or boots that can get dirty.
