Stepping UP to Wellness Run/walk is fundraising event for the Cancer Wellness Center. Our goal for 2018 is to have 1000 participants and raise $185,000.

Each year, the Cancer Wellness Center helps over 1,500 individuals who are facing a cancer diagnosis with free counseling and support, wellness programs and educational resources. With your help, they can continue to provide these unparalleled services, FREE of charge, to all those living with a cancer diagnosis.

Our fundraisers are not just for social time with parents and friends, they are for the much-needed funds, to keep our children growing and thriving in school. Unlike many other schools in the area that do one LARGE fundraiser, St Linus does three smaller ones, which includes the Hawktoberfest, Turkey Trot, and our Spring Parents Only fundraiser. This spring fundraiser is done to fund our music program. Without this fundraiser, the kids would lose their music teacher and their music program. So let’s keep the music playing!!!

Opportunity Details

Our school is currently hosting a Read-a-Thon to promote a love of reading. As part of this effort, we would love to have volunteers come in and read aloud to our K-2 classes during English Language Arts. VOLUNTEERS MAY BRING THEIR OWN CHILD WITH THEM IF NEEDED.

Use of the books currently in the "Kohl's Cares" promotion would be perfect, especially if the volunteers wanted to bring along the accompanying stuffed animals to help the children visualize the characters and make the books "come to life". Volunteers would be assigned at least one classroom in each grade level.

Our Walk to Cure Arthritis celebrates our warriors, while raising funds for research, resources and a cure. Much more than just a walk event, it’s something even bigger than arthritis itself.

Arthritis affects more than 50 million Americans, including 300,000 children. They are warriors. They face relentless pain, a frustrating search for a diagnosis, multiple doctor’s visits and treatment, missed work and school, limited mobility, a maze of medical and insurance paperwork, and the desire to live a full life without the limitations that arthritis can create.

We need volunteers to help the day of the walk!

60th Annual Art Fair on the Square
Saturday, July 14 & Sunday, July 15, 2018

Art Fair on the Square is one of the Midwest's most popular and highly regarded outdoor celebration of the arts, offering a mix of music, entertainment, and outdoor dining, as well as some 500 artists exhibiting fine art and craft. The fair draws nearly 200,000 visitors to the Capitol Square each year. As MMoCA’s most important fundraising event of the year, we greatly appreciate -- and rely on -- our hardworking volunteers who help make this event a success year after year.
