The Breathe Youth Media Awards (BYMAs) engage local teens in fighting the glamorization of tobacco use in popular media. At our annual ceremony, Sacramento's future leaders recognize the films which most realistically portray the dangers of tobacco use or most grossly encourage it. The awards are based on data from our internationally-recognized Thumbs Up! Thumbs Down! tobacco research program.
The BYMA ceremony is the region’s premier teen anti-tobacco awareness event. The event brings together 350+ students, dancers, choreographers, families, businesses, and elected officials each year. Following the awards ceremony, attendees are invited to join us for an all-inclusive after-party with free food, games, dancing, music, and prizes.

The 3rd Annual Defeat DIPG Superhero Sprint & 6K, on Sunday, May 27, 2018, is a fun and meaningful way to contribute to the fight against childhood brain tumors.

Brain tumors are the leading cause of childhood cancer death for children and adolescents under the age of 19. And, DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) is the most lethal form of pediatric brain cancer. There is now hope for progress in the battle against DIPG, and your participation can make an impact and help save these kids' lives!

All proceeds from the race will benefit the Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for research. The Foundation was created in memory of Michael William Mosier, a six-year-old little boy from Bethesda, Maryland, who fought DIPG for 8.5 months before passing away from the disease in May 2015.

This is a fun, family-friendly event, with something for everyone! A 6K walk/run and for our kids: a 1K walk/run and Tot Sprint. There will be games and entertainment for all throughout the event at our Superhero Central.

The Strike Out DIPG Bowling Tournament will be held on Sunday, March 25 at Bowlmor Houston and includes a fun afternoon of bowling, delicious snacks and dessert bar, and prizes to help Connor Man Defeat DIPG Foundation strike out DIPG!! 100% of the proceeds will fund much-needed research for effective treatment options and a cure to DIPG, the deadliest form of pediatric brain cancer.

Connor Man Defeat DIPG Foundation, the Texas chapter of Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation, is committed to finding a cure for brainstem tumors known as diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas (DIPG). Nearly every day one child in the United States is diagnosed with DIPG and another child dies from it. The Foundation seeks to make a difference and Defeat DIPG both by raising awareness of DIPG and by providing funding for research into effective treatments for DIPG. Alexis and Peter Olympia established Connor Man Defeat DIPG Foundation in honor of their 4-year-old son, Connor Michael Olympia, who bravely battled against DIPG for 10 months before passing away on October 29, 2015.

DIPG affects children almost exclusively, typically between the ages of 4 and 11. DIPG brain tumors are the deadliest form of pediatric brain caner, and the median survival rate for these children is only 9 months. A child diagnosed today with DIPG faces the same prognosis as a child diagnosed over 40 years ago. There is still no effective treatment and no chance of survival. Our children deserve better.

Roll With It Morgan is named for Morgan Savage, a 6-year-old from Rock Hill, South Carolina, who battled a brain tumor known as DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) for 8 months before passing away in May 2015. Morgan attended first grade at Richmond Drive Elementary School.

The Inaugural Roll With It Morgan Drive Out DIPG Memorial Golf Tournament will bring together our community for a fun day of golf. All proceeds from this event will benefit Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is a leader in the fight for a cure for DIPG brain tumors. The funds raised will be dedicated to research for a cure for DIPG.

DIPG is the deadliest form of pediatric brain cancer, impacting 200-400 children each year in the U.S. alone, with near 0% survival. Finally, researchers are hopeful that they can improve the prognosis for this devastating disease, and by participating in this tournament, you will be helping fund essential research for these children! To learn more about DIPG, please visit DefeatDIPG.org.
