The Lupus Colorado Community Walk is back for a second-straight year! Unlike many other walks, EVERY DOLLAR RAISED AT THE LUPUS COLORADO WALK WILL STAY IN THE STATE OF COLORADO TO BENEFIT MORE THAN 30,000 COLORADANS LIVING WITH LUPUS. When you participate in the Lupus Colorado Community Walk, you are directly impacting fellow Coloradans living with this debilitating disease. Lupus Colorado is the only not for profit organization in Colorado dedicated solely to supporting people living with lupus, their families, and friends. In 2016, through our Emergency Financial Assistance Program, Lupus Colorado distributed over $28,000 to lupus patients for utilities, dental work, medical co-pays, prescriptions, groceries, bus fares, and much more. When you register for the walk, donate to the walk, or volunteer you are helping to ensure that we can keep providing this valuable financial assistance to lupus patients in Colorado. We are excited about this year’s new location, Prospect Park in Wheat Ridge, which has ample shade and parking! Our event is more than a walk; it is a celebration for the whole family complete with music, photos, face painting, arts and crafts, yard games including corn hole and horseshoes, cotton candy, and food trucks. In addition, the 2017 walk will include health-related vendors. For the safety of all participants, no dogs are allowed at the event. The walk will feature two shaded walk routes this year to accommodate all of our patients. The main walk route will be 1/2 mile or you can take the shortcut which is 1/4 mile. To pull off this great event, we need walkers and volunteers!
