Coverage and access to physiotherapy services remains a big challenge both within the hospital setting and in the communities of 3 districts in West Nile sub region of Uganda.
Recognition of physiotherapy services in the health care system for provision of rehabilitation and habilitation services; prevention and risk reduction services is still minimal in these areas. Yet tapping this opportunity would improve the health status of the population across their lifespan.
Physiotherapy is known to be the first contact, autonomous, and client-focused health profession that plays a great role in the provision of primary health care; recognizes and addresses determinants of health from the wider perspective. Nonetheless, there are challenges of access, fragmentation of services, and predominantly the profession lack position and status in the medical environment. This is attributed to lack of health care reforms focusing on integration of services and commissioning of the services for reshaping organization and delivery of physiotherapy services. The primary health care providers are mainly physicians whose focus is more on biomedical care

Our annual salsa challenge is our largest fundraiser of the year and proudly features restaurants, businesses, and individuals competing to make the best salsa in their category. Arizona Bleeding Disorders, also know as Arizona Hemophilia Association, is requesting your support to help with making our 36th Annual My Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge a success. This culinary competition features over 100 freshly made salsas and “chefs” that compete for judges’ votes. Nearly 8,000 people are expected to attend this year’s event to enjoy the freshly made salsas, listen to live music, sip margaritas, and vote for their salsa favorite.

The funds raised by this event will allow us to provide valuable programs, such as Camp HONOR, where for one week children with bleeding disorders can come together with their siblings and partake in normal childhood activities without the worry of their condition. The kids learn how to accept and better manage living with this chronic condition, in a fun and safe environment. Your gift also helps raise vital funds for statewide programs, support services, advocacy, and education to help enhance the quality of life for the bleeding disorder community. Without that support, children may not get the treatment and support they need which can lead to greater risk of complications and permanent, debilitating injury. The success of this event is a result of dedicated volunteers, event participants, and generous sponsors.

Volunteer Opportunities vary in duration and responsibilities but can include:
Ticket Admissions & Sales
Food & Beverage Sales
Event Logistics
Field Management
and a whole lot more!

All Volunteers will receive a volunteer shirt and lunch. Volunteers are also welcome to enjoy the event before and/or after their shift.
