Join us for the 2nd Annual Taking a Shot at Breast Cancer Badges & Bras EventThe goal of this event is to raise funds for the Taking a Shot at Breast Cancer fund to benefit Breast Cancer Patients in St. Clair County Michigan. Since starting on this journey 10 years ago Steven and Emily have raised over $60,000 for Breast Cancer patients in their community. Making $10,000 donations to all three hospitals located in St. Clair County. Their goal is to continue helping patients who are under and/or uninsured receive free mammograms, as well as, incidental costs such as gas, groceries and child care if they need help.

Share HOPE with thousands of mini-Hope Heroes recently impacted by Hurricane Florence! The Happy Hope Factory is teaming up with United Way-North Carolina to deliver special Happy Hope Bags to children in the coastal Carolina communities affected by the recent storm. Teams are needed over the next four weeks to assemble, pack and ship up to 5,000 Happy Hope Bags. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble 24 Happy Hope Bags, and a prepaid UPS label will be included to ship completed boxes directly to the United Way’s distribution center. All boxes must be completed by October 19th. We can all be Hope Heroes, thank you for packaging happiness and smiles for children in need of a boost of hope!Available Shifts

Interested in community volunteerism, activism, and advocacy? Join our youth advisory!WHAT IS THE ADVISORY?
Victoria Foundation is planning a Vital Conversation about youth community volunteerism, activism, and advocacy to take place on April 8, 2019. We are looking for young people aged 15-29 to join an advisory group to guide and share in decision-making around the content, themes, and format of the event.
WHAT WILL THE ADVISORY DO?
1. Guide and share in decision-making around potential themes, youth panellists, and event logistics
2. Explore opportunities for supporting collective action on ideas sparked by the event
3. Help ensure this conversation is meaningful and relevant to young people!
WHO CAN BE AN ADVISORY MEMBER?
Members of the advisory group will be young people aged 15-29 with personal experience or a desire to be involved in community work such as volunteerism, activism, or advocacy, as well as youth working in the Capital Region in the area of community engagement. Participants will receive a small gift after the event.
HOW WILL THE ADVISORY BE ENGAGED?
1. Meetings – Four evening advisory meetings will be held from February – April 2019. Snacks will be provided, and bus tickets are available.
2. Email – Your feedback will be requested via email throughout the planning period.

Opportunity Details
This event will include plenty of art activities! Such as cute caterpillars made from pipe cleaners and butterfly feeders made with oranges. Children will also have the opportunity of enjoying the butterfly pavilion, a dance movement workshop, a drumming workshop, and face painting. Volunteers will help the children attending go through the different activity stations and encourage them to participate in all the fun projects. Before we end this exciting day, children and volunteers will get to have lunch together, this will be the perfect time to talk about their favorite activity of the day.Possible Volunteer Assignments:

Your team will be crafting, creating and assembling these super fun themed packages guaranteed to deliver a boost of hope and hours of activity for these special children during their hospital stay. If your team cannot complete the box within two weeks of your scheduled event please contact your hope box coordinator as children are awaiting your Hope Box donation.
