Opportunity Details

Our goal is to combat hunger through the Summer Food Program which serves low-income families with school aged children (K-12) who are on free or reduced lunch in up to 9 counties. We provide food, paper products, cleaning supplies and personal hygiene products through the summer months. We provide the families food boxes at the end of May, June, and July.

Opportunity Details

Associates from Kohl's are invited to assist in projects at our Fenton, Missouri warehouse in support of military and veteran families. Volunteers are welcome to be on-site from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday or any portion of that time frame. Tasks will include processing and sorting the donations of new clothing, personal care items, and non-perishable food items for distribution to military and veteran families. Volunteers must be 18 years of age. Sturdy shoes, long pants, and the ability to lift 15 pounds required.

Opportunity Details

Please join us to help create and package sets of scarves,turbans and jewelry that will be donated to over 100 women who request our sets each month. Our sets are sent to women going through cancer and chemotherapy treatment across the United States. Feel good as you put together a package and help bring a smile to a woman going through a very difficult time in her life. You are welcome to volunteer for an hour, and we hope you will stay longer. Hours are 10-4, both July 8th and 9th, another event August 18th and 19th.

The Gilbert House Children's Museum is partnering with the National Summer Learning Association, OregonASK, and local partners to host the 3rd Annual Summer Block Party on Monday, June 25th from 10am-2pm. The goal of the event is to recognize the importance of summer learning and to promote the great opportunities the Salem Community has to offer. In addition, the Gilbert House Children's Museum will offer free admission for the day.
We need volunteers to make this event possible. We will have a designated outdoor area for organizations to promote their programs. Volunteers will assist the setup, help maintain smooth operation by interacting with and directing our visitors and help clean up afterward. You can volunteer for as much of the day as you'd like, but we do have some scheduled shifts:
Set-up: 9:00-10:00 am
Event Time: 10:00am-2:00pm
Clean-up: 2:00pm-3:00pm
