On Saturday, April 21, 2018, the Uplanders Club Charitable Organization (UCCO) will be hosting a Razzle Dazzle Gala for Casa Colina Children’s Services Center, our Charity of Choice for 2017-2018. The event will be held at the DoubleTree in Claremont from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm. All friends and family are encouraged to attend.

The Casa Colina Children’s Services Center, located in Pomona, California, offers physical, occupational and speech therapy to children from infancy through 16 years old. Since 2014, 1 out of 68 children in the US are diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD); that is a 30% increase from 2012. These children are
very susceptible to compulsive or repetitive behavior, which makes it difficult to deal with high levels of stress.

The funds we raise will be used to advance the children’s music enrichment program. The money will benefit the children in the program by providing musical stimulation to help facilitate their learning abilities and to bring joy
to all that participate.

Responsibilities

· Oversee budgets and financial spending of fiscal clients

· Prepare and maintain financial reports and documents

· Provides information to the Board of Directors based on findings, analyses and recommendations

· Maintain accurate QuickBooks files

· Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data

· Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state and local requirements

· Assists with special financial projects as requested

Qualifications

· Basic accounting principles

· QuickBooks knowledge

· Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written)

· Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting

· Strong attention to detail and time management

Time Commitment

This position requires a commitment of 2-3 hours per week . We offer a lot of flexibility in when and how you complete those hours and many of the tasks and responsibilities can be done remotely, working online, at a time that is convenient for you. Attend a monthly board meeting (lunch and parking included).

Compensation

This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation. Our organization is ran 100% volunteer

Global Business Brigades at the University of Florida is hosting a St. Patrick's Day sand volleyball fundraiser and we are looking for volunteers. This fundraiser will take place on March 17th, 2018 at the Southwest Recreation Center Sand Volleyball Courts on the University of Florida campus.
The mission of Global Business Brigades is to empower volunteers and under-resourced communities to resolve global health and economic disparities and inspire all involved to collaboratively work towards an equal world. All of the money raised from the volleyball tournament will go directly towards Global Business Brigades at UF for our 2018 service trip to Nicaragua.

The event is a field day fundraiser held by Global Brigades. The event has various competitions and activities for participants. Volunteer’s will be assisting with running the field day (scorekeeping, refereeing, playing music, etc.). Each participant in the field day pays $10. All money raised goes towards training our brigaders to increase the impact they make on service trips in the developing world.
