Answer & manages all phone call interactions, manage the arrival of clients/visitors and call into the right personnel, record staff whereabouts and greet walk-ins who are seeking a free HIV & Hepatitis C test. Provide screening form, record test temperatures and perform other duties assisting staff & executive director.

Our clients are extremely low income and we organize events to help them afford basic needs.

We pass out flyers at the store entrances and briefly explain our cause and mission. Volunteers will accept any non-perishable items and money. Volunteers are asked to help bring the donation items to the office.

After the drive, we may have a function where you can meet with clients to give out items.

Opportunity Details

Please join us for a fun day of giving back at The Painted Turtle. Since opening our gates in
2004, support from community members like you has enabled The Painted Turtle to provided more than 62,500 authentic, recreational camp experiences to children with serious illness and their families.

On Saturday, February 8th, Volunteers will help prepare our 173-acre site for the arrival of
campers and families throughout 2020, and partake in a remarkable team-building experience themselves. This day is open to existing partners who make an impact on the mission of Camp, as well as groups and organizations interested in creating a further partnership.

Volunteers will work with teams for approximately 3 hours. Tasks may include stuffing turtle
pillows, organizing program areas, housekeeping, landscaping, and more. The majority of projects will be outside or in various buildings, where help is needed most. We offer camp tours and provide a morning continental breakfast, a mid-day lunch, and refreshments throughout. To cover the meal expenses, a $10 donation per volunteer is requested. In the interest of both safety and productivity, all attendees must be at least 10 years of age.
