Join Children's Museum of Illinois for our 28th Annual Duck Derby on Saturday, May 4th. The Duck Derby is our biggest fundraiser and community day of the year! 5,000 rubber raffle ducks will race with the winner taking home $3,000! Volunteers will be asked to lead crafts and activities during the event.

Children’s Museum of Illinois is a hands-on, interactive museum for children ages three to twelve. CMofIL partners with local businesses, service organizations, schools, and foundations to provide new exhibits, enhanced educational programming, and increased outreach efforts. These partnerships allow CMofIL to secure its position as an outstanding educational facility for ours and surrounding communities. Additionally, the Museum contributes to the quality of life for Macon County and its residents.

Children’s Museum of Illinois is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization.
It receives no funding from federal, state, or local government and is not a part of the Decatur Park District.

***Free Gelato Day***

taking place this Saturday, April 13th from 2:00-8:00pm
at both their South Park Street and Young Street locations.
Customers receive free gelato, in exchange for a donation to the Foundation.
Everybody wins!

We need volunteers to be on site at each location during the event:
Two to scoop and one to accept donations and talk about what the Foundation does!

Please let me know if you, or your organization, is able to volunteer an hour or two at one of the locations.

(In exchange, you’ll get all the yummy gelato you care to eat!!!)

Join Regional Manager Lizzy Swiderski on Good Friday, April 19th @7am to help load up over 5,000 pairs of shoes, and squeeze in an hour of service before work! The shoes go towards our micro-enterprise program which helps us to create sustainable jobs in developing nations!

Got shoes? This is also a great time to drop-off any shoes you have from you shoe drive! We can load them up right away!

WHERE DO THE SHOES GO?
In supporting Soles4Souls in just a few hours of service, you will help make a major impact on the lives of families in places like Haiti and Honduras. The 5,000 pair of shoes you will load will benefit Soles4Souls international micro-enterprise program as a tool to generate income. The micro-enterprise model offers a powerful and sustainable way for people to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
