The purpose of this event is to have our students and their families gather together during the holidays. The students work hard all year long to becoming their best versions of themselves not only as dancers but as individuals. This gathering will give us the opportunity to thank the students and their families for their dedication through our 2018 school year.

Every year St. John's hosts a fall dinner with a silent auction in order to raise funds to offset tuition costs so that every child in the community can attend St. John’s School. Our school's smaller class sizes enable teachers to dedicate more time and attention on every student, thus enhancing each child's academic success. Throughout the year, parents volunteer their time and talents as teachers, administrative assistants and maintenance personnel. Prior to the fall dinner, parents seek support from local businesses they frequent. We are able to raise approximately $5,000 through the fall dinner (silent auction) and generous donations from community members. However, with the support of our online benefactors we know we could reach more children in need.

The goal of this volunteer day is to bring together many partners and families to help re-create and beautify our many gardens at Sunset Valley Elementary. Some of our garden boxes were not originally installed correctly, and our new gardening committee would like to rectify this issue so that the gardens can flourish more in the future. We need many hands to make the work more light! This is important to our community because we use our gardens for educational and learning opportunities during the school day, for after school club opportunities, and to help share vegetables with our families.

Our DC Walk to Defeat ALS will be held on Saturday, October 13 at the Washington Monument Grounds. With over 2,500 attendees, we need all of the help we can get! Its more than a walk; its a celebration event for the community, and families battling ALS.

As a volunteer, you will assist with overseeing booths, such as the kids' zone, food tent, registration tent, etc. As well as assist with some hands on tasks, such as serving on our cheering team, face painting for kids, distributing t-shirts, and food etc.

Our Walk to Defeat ALS Signature Program helps raise funds, and awareness for Amyothrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) which is commonly known as Lou Gehrigs Disease. More than just a few-mile trek. The walk to Defeat ALS is an opportunity to bring hope to people living with ALS, and to come together for something you care about. Thanks to the funds raised by this signature program, our chapter is able to sustain FREE programs, and services to nearly 700 individuals, and military veterans living with ALS, and their families.

Our mission is to assist young adults with job coaching and the resources they need in order to be able to find and maintain employment so that they can lead the most inclusive lives as possible considering their disability. We hope we can count with your team to help us show our community how awesome it is to make these young adults a part of our team. We want to show our community that all challenges are conquerable when faced together!!!

Let us know if we can count on the Apple team on Saturday October 13th at Amelia Earhart Park. You will fall in love with our young adults and you will make a difference.
