Dystonia is a brain disorder, much like Parkinson’s, that causes muscles in the body to contract and spasm involuntarily. Physical symptoms may impede the ability to walk, sit upright, speak, or even see. There are multiple forms of dystonia and the disorder affects children and adults of all ages and backgrounds. The Cincinnati Dystonia Zoo Walk is an unusual event set to take place at the Cincinnati Zoo on September 21, 2019. This special event will benefit the work of the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation (DMRF).

It would wonderful to have Kohl's create special welcome kits for our new residents. Entering the shelter system can be an intimidating transition for children and families. HELP USA provides many support services to help families during this difficult time. This includes welcome kits to make them feel more at home. Families receive basic toiletries, as well a warm welcome note of encouragement put together by volunteers. HELP offers this same project for Back-to-School Backpacks and school supplies.

You are welcome to make the kits here at the HELP central office or at a Kohl's office or location. Our office is located on the first 3 floors of a HELP USA affordable housing building, so it’s also a great place for your staff to come and see first-hand what we do!

Share HOPE with thousands of mini-Hope Heroes recently impacted by Hurricane Florence! The Happy Hope Factory is teaming up with United Way-North Carolina to deliver special Happy Hope Bags to children in the coastal Carolina communities affected by the recent storm. Teams are needed over the next four weeks to assemble, pack and ship up to 5,000 Happy Hope Bags. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble 25 Happy Hope Bags, and a prepaid UPS label will be included to ship completed boxes directly to the United Way’s distribution center. All boxes must be completed by October 19th. We can all be Hope Heroes, thank you for packaging happiness and smiles for children in need of a boost of hope!

Hello, I hope all is well. My name is Brittany Campbell and I am the Founder of Strengthening Transformations Inc. a non-profit organization out of Versailles. We are having an upcoming event our 2nd Annual Friendship Fest on Saturday, August 17th from 3-7pm at the Woodford County Fairgrounds (293 Beasley Rd.). This event is to bring awareness not only about our organization Strengthening Transformations Inc. and what we are doing in the community, but to also provide a time for the community to come together.

As you may know, Versailles is a small town located right outside Lexington. The people there know each other, but are not always afforded times to come together for fellowship and fun. We decided to create a summer fest that allows this to take place. What makes this fest unique is that we are offering free haircuts and hair styles for the kids, along with a hygiene bags (toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, dental floss, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash and/or soap) to encourage self care.

Strengthening Transformations is an organization that caters to the well being of women and families. Some of the families we are trying to reach, have children that may not have these items, or even access to personal care. We want to give that to them, along with a great time of food, fun, face painting, inflatables, pony rides, giveaways, and games, to reiterate the importance of togetherness and taking care of yourself. Cause when you look good, you feel good!

The hair services, hygiene bags, food, DJ, service and time have all been donated by volunteers and various local businesses.
