Our annual health fair is back! We are excited to bring access to free health screens to the community. This community-wide event will offer free mammogram screenings, free health assessments, job fair, onsite professional Q&A sessions from local doctors, and more! This fair will raise awareness with the hope to inspire residents to "fight" for their health!

NVCSS has been partnering with Kohl’s for over 16 years to serve the most disadvantaged children in our area. Our goal is to provide 100 children the opportunity to purchase new school clothes by pairing each of them with a volunteer shopper and a $175 gift card. This event will help children feel prepared and confident as they walk into the new school year with an outfit that they personally hand-picked.

The Run For U-46 is our second annual 5K fundraiser run to benefits the students, teachers, staff, and schools of School District U-46. The Run will take place on October 8 at Bartlett High School, 701 W. Schick Rd., Bartlett, Il, and we are in need of many volunteers to help pass out water and bananas, help with registration, and otherwise support and cheer on our runners.

Support Empty Bowls 2022!

In its 14th year, Empty Bowls brings the community back together once again at St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School to visit various soup vendors by handing the chef their new bowl to fill. This tangibly represents the soup-bowl experience that many homeless families face prior to entering Home Suite Hope. This is Home Suite Hope’s annual signature fundraising event with all proceeds going to its wrap around supports. Crack Pot has been involved in this important initiative for over 10 years and are pleased to continue our support!

You can help support the Empty Bowls fundraiser by hand painting a discounted bowl from Crack Pot Studio to donate to the event. Follow this link http://www.crackpotstudio.com/empty-bowls-2022/ to order your Bowl Paint-at-Home Kits using the online form. Or you can call (905-338-1358) or email (crackpotoakville@gmail.com) to schedule a time to paint in-studio.

Once you’re finished painting at home, please return your bowls to the studio to be fired and donated to the event. Please note, all bowls must be returned to the studio by October 30th in order to be ready for the event. Alternatively, Empty Bowls at Home attendees are invited to keep their painted bowl.

The price per bowl is $30 (tax included). If purchasing 40 bowls or more (corporate paint party), the discounted price is $25 per bowl. Please note that there is a $2.00 fee per order to use our online booking service. To avoid this charge, you can call or email the studio to place your order instead.

It’s not us, really, but the family has decided to move to warmer weather. We will miss her terribly as she has been instrumental in every aspect of our work.
