SupplyBank.org is preparing for the back-to-school season, and we need your help.

We invite you to join us on Saturday, August 6, in Hall D of the San Diego Convention Center. We will assemble 10,000 school supply kits for homeless and low-income kids in San Diego and across the Southern California region.

Scope of the Volunteer Project:
Support with the set-up of assembly lines
Assemble school supply kits
Organize and build boxes/pallets
Break down and recycle boxes

Details:
All volunteers will receive a FREE T-SHIRT!
You can choose which 3-hour volunteer shift works best for you!
9:00AM - 12:00PM
12:30PM - 3:30PM
4:00PM - 7:00PM

Requirements:
Everyone must wear a mask (covering mouth and nose)
Age minimum is 6 years old
Ages 12 and under require adult supervision
Parent/legal guardian must sign a waiver if the participant is under 18

Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing are recommended

Our agency is the state’s largest, non-for-profit provider of child welfare services. Our primary mission at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services is to work with families to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Robyn’s Nest is a basic needs repository that strictly operates through the ongoing assistance of volunteers who help organize and sort incoming donations and help us run annual drives. Robyn’s Nest houses new and gently used clothing, hygiene products, infant items, toys, books and other household goods. These items are then provided to free to families within our foster care system as well as those identified to have unmet needs through Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

Opportunity Details

The Grant Writer works with program staff and leadership to develop ideas and seek grants and contracts that are aligned with strategic objectives. This person will work with program staff to develop and maintain systems and procedures for management of contracts and grants. Experienced grant writer is highly desirable.
Prepare, submit, and manage grant applications
Research, coordination, planning, and execution of grant writing
Maintain grant calendar, create database, including tracking renewal and reporting timelines.
Cultivate and deepen relationships with foundation and corporate funders

A volunteer with strong interpersonal and organizational skills who will be responsible for raising funds for Legacy Family Center, a nonprofit institution. This person will work with members of the Resource Council to plan and coordinate all aspects of fund development

Provide leadership on all fundraising initiatives including special events, capital campaign, major gifts, sponsorships, donor cultivation and grant writing
Secure gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding assigned prospects
Manage the successful implementation of a Capital Campaign Plan with a focus on new opportunities to obtain ongoing and increased support from corporations, public and private organizations, faith communities, and individuals
Provide necessary training and coaching to volunteers
Maintain a detailed database for sustainability and transition

Opportunity Details

We are looking for volunteers to participate in marketing activities, in-person or virtual second Saturday workshops, or mock interviews. Do you have a unique skill? The women of the Televerde Foundation need your support. Topics might include resume writing, parenting, public speaking, storytelling, email etiquette, or hair and make-up tips and tricks. We'd love to have you join our team to help women transitioning from prison learn things that most of us take for granted.

The goal is to repair as much equipment as possible so that we can honor the large number of requests from children, students and educational institutions. The importance of these activities is to support access to information, education and personal development.

Hello, I hope all is well. My name is Brittany Campbell and I am the Founder of Strengthening Transformations Inc. a non-profit organization out of Versailles. We are having an upcoming event our 4th Annual Friendship Fest on Saturday, July 30th from. 2-6pm at the Woodford County Fairgrounds (293 Beasley Rd.). This event is to bring awareness not only about our organization Strengthening Transformations Inc. and what we are doing in the community, but to also provide a time for the community to come together.

As you may know, Versailles is a small town located right outside Lexington. The people there know each other, but are not always afforded times to come together for fellowship and fun. We decided to create a summer fest that allows this to take place. What makes this fest unique is that we are offering free haircuts and hair styles for the kids, along with a hygiene bags (toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, dental floss, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash and/or soap) to encourage self care.

Strengthening Transformations is an organization that caters to the well being of women and families. Some of the families we are trying to reach, have children that may not have these items, or even access to personal care. We want to give that to them, along with a great time of food, fun, face painting, inflatables, pony rides, giveaways, and games, to reiterate the importance of togetherness and taking care of yourself. Cause when you look good, you feel good!

The hair services, hygiene bags, food, DJ, service and time have all been donated by volunteers and various local businesses.
