Responsibilities

Requirements
• Proven work experience as a community manager
• Experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building an online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series and writing an email newsletter)
• Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics (e.g. repeat attendance at events)
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent writing skills
• Hands on experience with social media management for brands
• Ability to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement metrics
• Knowledge of online marketing and marketing channels
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• BSc degree in Marketing or relevant field

Opportunity Details
Objective:To provide assistance the organization in identifying donor resources, raising funds and writing proposals for long-term organizational sustainability.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations (international foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies and private corporations offering donations)
Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the work of the organization
Maintain a website and regularly update it with information about organization’s work
Assist the Director in writing concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission
Undertake independent research in finding alternative resources for long-term sustainability of the organization
Assist the Director in developing business plans to generate income from various sources.
Undertake online research and build contacts with potential individual donors and raise funds for the activities of the organization.
Maintain relationships with existing donors and respond to their requests regularly and keep updating them about the work of the organization
Improve and develop communications material for the organization such as brochure, website, annual report, DVD, poster etc.
Organize or provide assistance in organizing any fundraising events for the organization
Suggest other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilization.

A lack of funding is a major challenge for organizations in Africa. BPDC is seeking a skilled volunteer as a virtual Fundraising Manager. This volunteer will report directly to the Founder/Executive Director, but with access to working with other managers and board members to achieve the fundraising goals of the organization. This role requires fundraising experience or extensive experience in dealing with donors directly. You will be responsible for managing and improving our aspects of fundraising as well as writing grants to help us raise the needed funds to meet our project priorities.This is an important project for our nonprofit because in 2021 we are strategizing to support more children from poor families. A fundraising strategy with a Fundraising Manager volunteer solely helping with this will be a success.

• Group Instructors develop classes, workshops and group experiences in areas including but not limited to the following: financial management and literacy, maintaining an apartment, current events, sports related topics, community resources, shopping on a budget, fitness and exercise, cooking, self-care, systems navigation and more.
• Select a designated date and time that you can commit giving advanced notice to shelter clients and guests.
• Develop and lead each class with enough time to set up and prepare necessary materials to be successful.
• Engage with shelter clients and guests, taking questions and gauging client needs - adapting the curriculum if needed to meet client expectations.
• Report on attendance, outcomes, and related information to staff.
• Provide a follow-up for clients on the subject matter (if needed).
Position Requirements:
• Must be over 18 years of age
• Have three (3) character reference letters dated within the past 12 months, one of which must be from a professional or educational resource (supervisor, college professor, etc.)
• Experience instructing groups in the area of expertise
• Present curriculum to the Volunteer Coordinator prior to commitment
• Be able to commit to a minimum of two (2) hours per week or a designated schedule based on subject matter
• Demonstrate the ability to read and write at an appropriate professional level
• Be able to communicate in a positive and confident manner to appropriately and successfully ensure the client needs are met

Overall Objective:
Provide strength-based and client-centered assistance to people experiencing homelessness as they move from homelessness to permanent housing. As part of the Bridge to Home Shelter Corps team, Shelter Assistant Volunteers work with staff to provide services to clients residing in the BTH shelter as well as community guests .
Position Description:
Shelter Assistants supplement shelter staff in the daily operations of the facility so that staff and clients have additional time to engage in educational resources, life-skills development, meals, and other developmental skills and activities that assist in providing the foundation for a safe shelter and moving from homelessness to housing.
Examples of Shelter Assistant responsibilities include:
• Provide meal services and kitchen support.
• Monitor hallways, dormitories and courtyards, supporting clients by meeting their needs and reporting any issues or concerns to staff.
• Assist clients in meeting their hygiene needs by providing towels, hygiene supplies and completing shower logs.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility.
• Assist in facilitating client laundry support.
• Greet clients at the sign-in desk and completes sign-in logs accurately.
• Co-facilitates client activities with Volunteer Group Instructors and staff.
• Interact individually with clients providing shelter-based friendship, sharing interests, and supporting clients while remaining focused and meeting their goals.
• Maintain shelter safety protocol by adhering to Bridge to Home’s Shelter Rules and Policies.
Position Requirements:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Have two (2) character reference letters dated within the past 12 months
• Be able to commit to a minimum of one (1) shift per week
• Demonstrate social sensitivity when dealing with the agency’s clients
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
• Be able to communicate in a positive and confident manner to staff, clients, and other team members
• Demonstrate a basic understanding and compassion for people with varying circumstances and diverse backgrounds
• Ability understand written and oral instructions to make quick and reasonable decisions and conclusions

• Assist in communicating an understanding of Bridge to Home’s policies and housing protocol with clients.
• Check in with clients for in-office appointments and following up on progress.
• Ensure clients have access or knowledge of essential community resources.
• Assists in organizing and completing client files.
• Engage with Bridge to Home clients to work on building meaningful connections that will establish trust.
• Navigate the countywide Homeless Management Information System database.
Position Requirements:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
