The Houston Bar Association (HBA) hosts a fun run to benefit The Center. The Center empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live meaningful, dignified lives filled with opportunity. The HBA has been able to donate more than $1.4 million to The Center through this event. We are asking for volunteers to help during packet pick up for the runners. We need 3 volunteers at a time for 3 hour shifts.

GleanKY is hosting a New Year's Eve party at the Galerie in Versailles, KY.

GleanKY is looking for volunteers to assist with setup, during the event, and breakdown (the day after) for their New Year's Eve fundraiser. The party starts at 8:30 PM and ends at 1 AM with two volunteer shifts- 8 PM-11 PM and 10:30 PM-1:30 AM. Set-up is from 1-4 PM on New Year's Eve. Break down is from 10 am-1pm on New Year's Day.

All Volunteers who assist with set up or during the event will receive a free Under 21/DD or General Admission entry in to the party. The party is open to all ages and under 21 will be carded at the door. Appetizers, games, and dancing will help you ring in 2019!

We believe that every baby deserves the best possible start. Unfortunately, not all babies get one. We are changing that. From advocacy to education to research, we’re working to level the playing field so that all moms and babies are healthy. Because when a society supports every family, the future is brighter for us all. And when communities work together, even the toughest problems can be solved. At March for Babies families and teams to come together to make a statement about the world they want to live in—one in which healthy moms and strong babies are a priority for us all. Meadowlands March for babies is a regional walk event with 4000+ participants expected from Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Passaic and Union counties.

Opportunity Details

Jewish Family Service of San Antonio recently received a very generous grant from Valero Energy Corporation that will go towards expanding our hours and services at our southside location off Mission Road. We are incredibly excited to be able to offer even more counseling services to those who need the extra support, especially with a focus on youth.

We'll be working on the beautification project Sunday, Jan. 20 from 11am-2pm. Volunteer jobs include painting, landscaping, and any other housekeeping tasks that require some elbow grease.

While we're busy planning additional services specifically for children, such as Play Therapy groups, we want to make sure they have a top-notch home-away-from-home for those on the south side of San Antonio.
