Your team will be crafting, creating and assembling these super fun themed packages guaranteed to deliver a boost of hope and hours of activity for these special children during their hospital stay. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble the Hope Bags. A prepaid UPS label is also included to ship your donation to your local facility. If your team cannot complete the box within two weeks of your scheduled event please contact your hope box coordinator as children are awaiting your Hope Box donation. The Happy Hope Factory is teaming up with United Way-North Carolina to deliver special Happy Hope Bags to children in the coastal Carolina communities affected by the recent storm. Teams are needed over the next four weeks to assemble, pack and ship up to 5,000 Happy Hope Bags. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble 24 Happy Hope Bags, and a prepaid UPS label will be included to ship completed boxes directly to the United Way’s distribution center. All boxes must be completed by October 19th. We can all be Hope Heroes, thank you for packaging happiness and smiles for children in need of a boost of hope!

We are looking for 7-10 energetic volunteers that will help us set up our pet Parade as well as three volunteers to Judge the Costume Contest. See details below and let me know if you have questions!

Does your pet have what it takes to win a costume contest? Do you want to have a positive impact on your community? If so, enter your adorable Dog, Cat or Bird in the 1st Annual Pet Parade Costume Contest! Your pet can win prizes and your donation will help the community. All proceeds go towards providing scholarships to high school seniors throughout Texas.

Opportunity Details

YWCA Toronto is seeking volunteers who can provide one-on-one mentoring to the women in our IT Program, Mobile Applications and Development. Our program consists of 16 women who are interested in learning more about applying for IT positions within the financial sector.

Responsibilities: Volunteers will share their own experiences finding work, discuss current opportunities within the financial sector, offer tips on the job search process, and review and provide feedback on the participants’ qualifications, resumes, cover letters, etc.

YWCA Program Details: The Mobile Applications and Development Program is focused on Java Review, iOS, Android App Development, as well as Salesforce Administration and Development. Participants will be completing their Scrum Master certification.

Benefits of Volunteering: This event will provide volunteers with the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with women who are either new to Canada or settled Canadians who have been out of the workforce for a while and are currently updating their skills to get back into the workforce.
